thank god we finally got the win last night gutted though that I can't make any more of the Home matches left this season due to family commitments looks like a couple of away days to Slough and St Albans are needed then lets hope we keep the run up and manage to secure a play off place , but not revert to playing the "long ball" game anymore !!!

Wow! What a nail-biting finish last night. Feels so much bigger than just 3 points on the table with 9 games to go!
From this position, what would everyone be happy with at the end of the season. For me, Securing any playoff place is a huge success and as much as winning a couple of them would be nice, 7th and being knocked out will be fine by me!

Looking at the other likely contenders in the playoffs, we would be capable of winning the 1/4f, it would be 50/50 at best on the semi but I suspect much like the last time we got there, should we make it the final would be a game too far against opposition that would most likely be too much for us on the day - that said its single leg ties so can be a lottery for all concerned especially if pens are involved!
Just being in the playoffs would be terrific especially after taking 10 games to 'find our feet' so-as-to-speak.
If we were to go up then we would have a season of abject misery with nailed-on relegation. You are going-up into the hardest league in all of football against 16 full-time clubs, most of whom could hold their own in the division above. You are competing to finish 5th from bottom along with all the remaining part-time clubs and hoping a couple of the full-timers have shockers of a season so join in the bun-fight at the bottom. My other team, Chorley, were promoted into the National and this is exactly what happened to them. They had been knocking on the door of the National for several seasons before getting in so were a VERY good CN team with a settled squad and excellent manager. The club could not justify or stretch to going full-time so remained part time and as a consequence were beaten most weeks (rarely thrashed through) and finished bottom in the Covid season. Since then they've been back in the playoff spots of the CN so it did not harm them by being sensible and living within their means!

No easy games there since every club we have left to play is desperate for points either to get in the play offs or avoid relegation (except Chippenham and they're in great form - won again last night after beating us not so long ago...) That said, Dover and Slough might be safe by the time we play them and have less to play for. Whether we make the play offs or not, it's great there's still something at stake come April (just like last season).

Could be a bit clearer after Saturday's results.
Saturday sees us home to Worthing??, Braintree home to Dover, H win?, Oxford v Tonbridge, Draw?, Chelmsford away at Cheshunt, Draw?, and St Albans away to Chippenham, Home win?.
Good Friday sees us away to Chelmsford??, ( ON TV! AND HOPEFULLY SHOWN AT THE CLUB? ) St Albans v Braintree Draw? and Tonbridge home to Hemel, Home win?.
Loads of possible computations and twists to come yet.
I have a feeling that much will ride on our visit to Clarence Park, last game of the season!!
Whatever happens, it has been a fantastic season, and great thanks go to the Management and players for getting us to this position, a position we would gladly have accepted at the start of the season!
COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!

Totally agree with what Hawleybootboy and Borobob have said. Great season, despite a bit of a poor start.
Given Ricky's impact last night, I'd love to know more about the 'mutual arrangement' that saw us loose Sam Deering from our skill-set....?

Braintree, St Albans & Tonbridge all dropping points this afternoon is fantastic news for us!
If we can get something on Tuesday night it would be a massive step, ahead of the difficult trip to Chelmsford on Friday!
