Hmm, called off after Havant had to start travelling. Say hello to a big bill then.

Altrincham V Yeovil was called off at 1-30 as well!! Apparently not the first time it's happened up there either!!
It can't always be left to the decision of the match referee surely?? Or is that a League rule??
The home Club ought to be aware of the travelling distance, and time it takes, to give the opposition a fair chance of not incurring costs!!
Lets take todays example Dover V Havant. Now that is probably a good three hours, maybe more, from Havant. They have to be at the game 1 hour before, so that's 4 hours, give them a bit of leeway in case of motorway problems, therefore 5 hours minimum notice of a possible call off!
According to the Havant forum, even the Dover groundsman said it should have been called off at 9-00!! They waited for the Match referee to turn up who said No within thirty seconds! Dreadful.
I would have expected a Club like Dover to make a reasonable assumption of the possibility of a cancellation, and got a local Official Referee to assess at around 9.00 a.m. I assume it didn't suddenly freeze at 12.00!
Not knowing the full situation though, it's hard to make a judgement but unless water pipes suddenly burst or something, a decision should have been made a lot earlier.
Not sure if there is a claim situation from the visiting club or not, but there blooming well should be!!
And what about the 100 or so visiting supporters, who assist with the finance that Clubs at any level desperately need? Any thought for them? there doesn't appear to be!!
Yes situations arise which are beyond control, and cannot be avoided, but it isn't hard to realise the problems at this current time is it?
Thankfully, we did the right thing, at 9.00 a.m.
