Must be a lot of Saturday-Tuesday-Saturday games coming up for us!
Four games postponed in a row, and I agree with a post that was on here a few weeks ago, suggesting we should front load the fixture schedules at the start of the season to avoid this sort of thing.
So now we have 24 league games and anywhere between one and four Hampshire Cup fixtures to play within the next 14 weeks.

Sorry, but HSC matches have to take back seat in my view, by using academy and unused squad players, and probably play them on Thursdays to leave the more important League games for Sat/Tuesdays.
We can , probably, just about squeeze them in, unlike Taunton, who have real problems.
Unfortunately our next two away games are Chippenham on Tuesday and Bath on Saturday, both on the western side, and in the worst of the weather area. Lets hope things improve a bit rapidly!!

Looking at the weather forecast for Chippenham on Tuesday, let's just say things are marginal.
We're going to play 24 games before the end of April when only 15 weekends are available.
When the sun is shining, yep, injuries, suspensions, whatever, we carry on. But that's not where we are. By luck or judgment many others in the division have played several more League games than we have, so they're in a better position than we are as the end of the regular season approaches.
Do we have sufficient depth in our squad to rise above the situation which we find ourselves in (which costs money, not to mention smooth talking the squad members who don't get many starts)?
Whichever way you view it, this is not easy. Welcome to playing football at a good level!

I raised the subject of an artificial pitch earlier in the season and the general feedback on here was a no, but due to current circumstances I can still see the benefits in us installing one.

A discussion that will go on for some time I believe Rob. For and Against on both sides, and there will always be an advantage, in my view, to those Clubs playing on artificial pitches, home for 23 matches per season, as to those who play on grass, and only on artificial three or four times at most!
There is a huge expense in laying the surface, in the first place, which takes a fair old while to recoup, through renting out, and the saving on training facilities.
The bounce is different, the surface has no give like grass, It's not good, long term on the knee and ankle joints and, despite other advantages of renting out etc, there is still a high maintenance cost, to the owner club.
Advantage is to those clubs in weather like this though, but how often does it happen, for this long??
If we were to make any capitol expenditure at the Club then I would investigate the possibility of solar panels on the PRE roof to provide free electricity to ourselves plus selling on any surplus.
That is a HUGE roof, facing south, and looks perfect for the positioning of the panels, assuming the structure is strong enough to take it of course. I could imagine, the Forest Green guy for instance sponsoring, 'The Eccotricity PRE stand' for instance!! Free advertising right across the front, as part of the deal to provide them!! Other providers are available!!

Trouble is that Dale Vince would demand the end of meat based products in the tea bars. What will I do with all those onions?

I saw a Facebook or Twitter post not so long ago from one of those lads who visit all sorts of different grounds and report back on their experience. He described our burgers as SNLSB's - which apparently is short for Standard Non-League Shit Burgers! Keep bringing the onions and mustard Mick!
