So, the fiery Welsh Dragon finally ended our fabulous cup run, but not before the fire extinguisher up his jaxxie finally ran out of gas in the 70th minute, and he found some very expensive reserves of fuel to blow us away, but boy did we give him a scare!!
It's great to be talking about the good things around the Club for a change, and getting many plaudits, far and wide, including national and International TV coverage. Maybe it will inspire someone, like Mr Reynolds, to come and have a look at what we have here and help to push us up to the levels the input deserves.
We showed we can compete with the best on most occasions , we now have to drive on to attain it on a regular basis!!
Thanks have to go to our Owners, Management, Directors, backroom staff, and FaST Board, for financing the superb squad we have assembled, arranging the travel assistance of so many supporters and, of course, our wonderful players for getting us to the situation we are now in with, hopefully, much more to come.
There are smiles and happy people around the Club again. The team is playing well, the facilities are some of the best at this level, crowds are improving, and life is looking good after so many years of worry and despair!!
Now we ALL have to take it forward, in whatever way we can. Attendances are hovering around the 500 mark once more, so if every one of us could spread the word, and bring just one more person with you, there is a real possibility of getting back to our old Farnborough Town days of 1000 ish every week, and just think what that could achieve!!
To all that attended yesterday, great noise, (don't need some of the foul references though), great enthusiasm, and a great effort!!
Keep it up, starting from Saturday. It really drives the lads on, and I know they appreciate it!
The Management input deserves it, the players deserve it, and the supporters deserve it!
After all the bad news of years past, its great to find the Club on the up again and getting plaudits for all the right reasons.
So now is the time for the big push from everyone, and it's........
COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!

There is no reason why this club cannot be in the National League within five years. As long as the players remain fully committed, the fans remain vocal and supportive, and the constant effort is put in by the staff, then the club can give the top dogs in our league and above even more of a challenge than we do now.
Around three years ago, I remember calling for Spencer to walk, among a few others, but I have come to realise, particularly this season, that he knows the players inside out, as well as the club, and knows how to get the best out of it.
The squad we have at our disposal is more than capable of holding its own as we have seen against not only Havant, Ebbsfleet, Hemel, Dulwich and Bath etc in our league, but even to clubs much bigger in stature such as Wrexham and Sutton! The players don't give up and are filled with so much hunger, and that reflects in the performances each week. It is definitely better than before lockdown, where the squad was disjointed through the so-called "revolving door" and leaving us behind with the latest comings and goings of the team. In a way, I'd like to think lockdown actually helped with the situation, giving the club time to essentially reassess and as a result make real progress in the 21/22 season.
And by no means are we perfect, but we are making huge progress in what is definitely up there with one of the best years we have had since the club reformed.
Our FA Cup run looks like it will propel the upward spiral of the club, and it's a good place to be! Let's see what the trophy and the league has to offer for the rest of the season!

CS is our natural level, aspirations of CN is a foolish dream as it means you have to be a full-time professional set-up to survive there and the money that requires to back it is huge. Of all the clubs in the CN you have 16 that are full-time, so the rest of the others are fighting not to be in the bottom 4 spots, as the the majority of the rest of the league run away from you.
The other team I follow, Chorley, made it to the CN a couple of years back at the same time as Stockport. Having watched the 2 play each other there was nothing between them at that level, however when they both went up Chorley decided it was not sustainable to go full time as they are a small club with only local business backing - Stockport on the other hand being extremely well funded went FT straight away and look at them now - arguably back where they belong!
Chorley’s season in the CN was one of misery getting beaten most weeks (but rarely hammered) - and then Covid hit the season!.. Even though they finished bottom they survived as a club by living within their means and taking the season on the chin knowing the outcome before the start and wrote it off, dropping back down to CN and have been competitive for the playoffs every season as a consequence.
Doing what Chorley did is the only way to go, but most fans will moan about being beaten each week and call for the head of those running the club, when to ensure you have a club for future years it is as unfortunate as it is necessary to get out of the CN… Unless we can find ourselves a Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElheney!

It's a good point and of course all comes back to money at the end of the day, which is why an FA Cup run, particularly against big teams can be good due to prize money and split gate. It gives lower league teams the money to thrive, and can make or break them! Just ask Lincoln City and Sutton United in 2017 for evidence!
It was good to be reassured by Garbo's interview on BBC Surrey earlier on, as he said they will spend the money wisely and it won't be wasted, which I have full faith in! There is a lot of potential in this club, both on AND off the pitch.

Having witnessed the far superior operation of a top National League Club, (not to be much longer I imagine), the obvious financial outlay that has gone in to it, and the very expensive Full Time squad to keep it going, I have absolutely no thoughts of being able to compete at that standard, consistently, for many a year to come.
The National League will only get stronger, as the cash does finally flow down from the top, attendances hugely increase, (5/6 thousand or higher per match is quite common these days), which fosters higher wages and far better players than we would ever be able to afford, unless a 'Mr. Reynolds' or the like comes along.
We had a 'pseudo' one of them before remember, and look what he did to us!!
Farnborough F.C. has done remarkably well to get back on its feet after many years of strife, and thanks go again to Rob, Spencer, the Directors and all backroom staff, for getting us here and I hope that we can now consolidate our position as a top level NS Club for the next few years, and build on it slowly and surely.
Yes ambition has to be there, and I wouldn't want it any other way, (god was that a Westleyism?), and coupled with a few more days like we had on Saturday hopefully, to keep the dosh coming in, we can ensure we have a solid and stable club for the future.

‘Attitude is more important than ability’… What utter guff! And then you rename the ground after that 😂

And where did his 'attitude and ability' get him??? ........ yes the dole queue, and rightly so, but we were all suckered in by him weren't we?, for a while anyway, as were several other Clubs!
An episode best forgotten, and lessons learnt for the future, if any more 'saviours' turn up!!

Lol - "dole queue". He inherited the family business, set up the 'Aimita' corporation to sell corporate BS and has been worth seven figures for decades.
His wealth is the only reason he was allowed to cosplay at being a football manager. The man was utterly tactically inept.

The Preston players nearly all quit after he had them do a training session that was playing a game kicking an imaginary ball around… At that point they shouted to the Chairman that the emperor has no clothes and in a few weeks he was gone from there!

It is the 'Dole Queue' as far as football is concerned! I can't imagine anyone in the game will touch him with a barge pole, even if he has a few squillion to play with!! Poor little rich boy with an even bigger ego!!

I can't imagine anyone in the game will touch him with a barge pole Unless you're Stevenage, in which case I wouldn't be surprised if they hired him for a fifth time in the near future.
