Yeah, with so many plum ties to be had on that list, it’s going to be drawn for us away at Bracknell isn’t it 😂

1st round draw I wanted a BIG tie, and even though I think we can give anyone a game give me a lower league team and us as much chance to get to the 3rd round where the bigger clubs come in. Chippenham, Alvechurch or Buxton at home will do for me in the 2nd round.

Anywhere but Accrington Stanley. Last time we were there we faced a barrage of spit walking past their fans. The place gives me the shudders thinking about it.

If I recall Jules, that's the place where the floodlights, like street lamps with shades, fell inwards in the wind, and only covered the touchline areas! The linos were in full light but the rest of the pitch was gloomy to say the least!! Ref still carried on, and we got dumped. Your right, horrible, grotty place then. Hopefully better now, but still wouldn't fancy that trip!! A few other nasties as well in there Trents : Carlisle, Hartlepool?, Grimsby, Buxton, Stockport, Newport (now that is a shudderer!!), Wrexham, for the longer trips, or Ebbsfleet or Woking dahn sarf!!
The rest? yeah we'll give it a go if we have to travel! Sheffield Wednesday away? yes please!!
Not bothered who it is at home really, but Pompey would be great!!
Nov 26th is the day we were due to play Chippenham away, so that's off, would be a right b****r if we draw no 16 wouldn't it?
Nigel wants number 25 of course!

If we are lucky enough to get a big home tie. Pompey, Derby, Sheffield Wed etc, then I would imagine that we would be advised to move to the Sunday, or if TV get involved, then Monday night, but that might detract away supporters if a northern Club!
Fingers crossed it's not Carlisle away!!!!!!!!!!

A big northern club at home (Wednesday, Derby, Barnsley, Stockport etc.) would equal a raucous sold-out crowd with not many away fans and quite a hostile atmosphere for the oppo to play in! Remember Torquay & Barnet bottled-it in the past when coming to the San Cheerio and allowed the atmosphere to get on top of them... And Palace (ok it was a friendly) didn't particularly like it either!

Looking at the rest of the draw I think we’re also in with a good shout of being televised us and Alvechurch.

A tough draw.
Wrexham are, of course, a HUGE side. They currently sit second in the National League under the very wealthy owners in Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. Their average attendances of over 9,500 at every home game are reflected in their performances, by which I mean there aren't any teams outside the top three that have beaten them. When you look at their scores it is quite easy to see how they have scored the most goals out of the whole league this season. They put seven past Barnet, six past Torquay (who themselves just beat Aldersh*t 6-1), five past Maidstone and Dorking, as well as four against Altrincham. And when you have a striker like Paul Mullin who broke the League Two goals record with Cambridge United you begin to understand why they are so lethal.
So it is a big game, with a big team, with a big crowd. They are a completely different challenge to Sutton United, who are floundering near the relegation zone in League Two while these lot are flying high.
We need to avoid falling into the trap of ONLY focusing on suppressing Paul Mullin, because otherwise they will just work around him like England did in the Euros when the oppo tried to suppress Harry Kane.
I digress.
It's a big game, with potential to be on TV and of course a split gate too! Brilliant to have some guaranteed money!
With regards to TV I imagine they would prioritise the following:
Ebbsfleet v Fleetwood Curzon Ashton v Grimsby (dependent on what happens in the replay v Cambridge) King's Lynn v Stevenage Woking v Exeter (again dependent on Oxford result)
And then they'll look at the non league sides that are away such as:
Wrexham v Farnborough Ipswich v Buxton Forest Green v Alvechurch Burton v Chippenham
Some interesting ties there, some upsets on the cards! There's always one that causes a load of upsets, and if we play as we did against Sutton, then there's no reason why it couldn't be us! And then in the third round it'll be Leicester at home just to give Dom a treat.

Ooh Tom, Dom won't talk to you again when we beat Leicester!!! Joke Dom Joke!!
Forest Green Alvechurch is a nailed on TV coverage, as it's the lowest team left and a real local derby.
The others? all up for grabs I reckon.

Forest Green Alvechurch is a nailed on TV coverage, as it's the lowest team left and a real local derby. Eh? Forest Green's ground is 62 miles from Alvechurch, a bit like us having a local derby with Hitchin! Not far to go, but "local", not quite.

They took 1500 to Cheltenham which is not so far from Stroud!! So local enough for the TV boys I reckon!!
