Not only is it a good result for the morale of the club, it is also a brilliant financial benefit too of £41,000! I'm sure that will do the club very nicely!

Terrific game to watch - first half was very even with both teams having periods of dominance but not really testing the keepers… The difference between the 2 sides was purely physical - skill levels we were the same, they were just that little bit bigger in all aspects, so thankfully getting to the break at 0-0 after a squeaky bum additional time which was continual Sutton corners, the game really was there for the taking.
Second half was fairly similar although I felt Sutton were shading it. A worldy from Jack (who had a couple of great saves in the 1st half as well) kept us in it - somehow he punched the ball round the post via the ground from about 2ft inside the post on a point blank reaction stop… Then the subs were made purely for fatigue as Selim & Hish had not stopped chasing and harrying and were beginning to flag. With the fresh legs we took the game to them again and Fernandes took his chance amazingly well. Sutton threw on a couple of subs and then went all-out for the equaliser and we caught them on the break, Amartey had time almost to get on his knees and head the ball across the goal line as he out-sprinted and ran round their last 2 players so had an entirely open goal.
Shame the goals were not in front of the faithful, but when the final whistle blew the game was in front of all of us to share that moment at least.
The Sutton crowd were embarrassingly small in size and volume - the stewards were loving all the lads singing and were joining in and conducting all of us at times - it was probably the best away crowd they have had for a couple of years!

Great display of digging in and putting bodies on the line, all round.
Sutton were a HUGE side, and threw everything at us but couldn't finish a dinner (know the feeling recently!!), but we held firm and the two late subs in Michael and Francis finished them off with two late sucker punches GET IN!!!
500 from us was a tremendous effort, and some great noise, and we really put their pitiful turnout to shame.
Decent enough Club, but if that's a EFL ground then it is pathetic!!
Anyway, enough of them, well done every man jack of the Boro from Players to Management to Supporters.
NEXT??
See you on Tuesday for Eastbourne at home.
More please!!!!
COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!

I suspect that matches in the next round will be played on the Sat 26/Sun27/Mon28 as England are in the World Cup on the Friday night.
Strange circumstance. Chippenham v Farnborough was scheduled for November 26th.

Great game!
Just a shout out to how good our FaST people are. The 50:50 payout at Sutton today from a near 2,000 crowd today was what, £66?
At home we get winnings north of a hundred quid on a dreary Tuesday night in January!
Well done Bob and all, and thanks also to Kelly for managing the coaches with Bob today - and getting the bar opened!👏👏👏

Richard, these are the days we, and all connected with FaST, work for.
These are the days that make it all worthwhile standing in the cold and wet selling tickets,
These are the days that so many excellent volunteers work their nuts off for the club throughout the years.
This is what makes a Club like Farnborough so special, and why we can't let go!!
Yes we have our whinges and moans when things don't go right, or the team plays badly, and I plead guilty to being one of the big detractors at times, but when it DOES all come together like today, you have to be so proud, happy and thankful that we have any club to support at all, and I take my hat off to Rob, Spencer, the Directors, Officers, the backroom staff, and all and sundry, and of course the playing staff, that make this Club so loved by us all.
This Club is now back on the map, lets make sure it stays there!!!
COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!
(Portsmouth at home next please!!) Lets get the place full and rocking and surely the TV will pick us for that??

First of all, thanks to Stewart for registering on this forum and providing good advice. I doubt if he'll be happy tonight, but football happens. Sutton's performance today reminded me of the old saw, that Conference National players are the worst full-time footballers in the world. On today's evidence, Sutton appear to have won that trophy despite being in League Two. Where was the guile, the skill, the intelligence to roll over a team two divisions below? Nowhere. Plenty of athleticism of course (it brought to mind our recent meetings with Salisbury: big, athletic blokes who aren't terribly good at, you know, playing actual football). But, did we fade? (no), so top marks to our fitness coaches. And we have more than enough skill for National South level - today we made it count at two levels above. For the first time this season we played just the one up front, so it was keep it tight, try to not concede, and then hit them with our talented, and very pacy, subs in the last 20. Sutton's ineptitude, sterling defending and some cracking saves by Jack Turner meant the game plan worked perfectly. I'm still going, yeah, it's Sutton, whatever. Been to Gander Green Lane loads of times to watch the Boro'. But we're in the hat for the Second Round and they aren't. I'm very pleased for the younger fans who haven't seen us do this before. I'm an old git with perhaps too many memories.

Our second goal, deep into stoppage time, that killed them off. But it doesn't show our tenacity to win possession in the first place.

Turned out to be an eight hour drive from Exeter but sooo worth it. I saw a fantastic Boro team effort offering some fantastic defending (and that amazing save). Yes, Sutton had their moments but I had a feeling we could turn them over. Their fans were hardly enthusiastic while we were certainly noisy, up for it, and the 12th man on/off the pitch.
Not overly impressed by their atmosphereless ground and it's hardly an impressive place. Our ground is modern modern, and much more welcoming. Let's hope we get a good home draw in the next round...but then again an away match shouldn't bother us either...
A great day for the Boro today and I'm going to try and get there Tuesday. After all, as a fan, and at times like this, who needs sleep.
Onwards, upwards and tomorrow the stars!
