Can some one help me please? Have I been asleep and missed something?
I've just listened to Spencer's interview after the Leatherhead game, and I'm convinced it is a report from two years ago spliced in by mistake!!
I thought we had got past all that negativity and doom and gloom reporting, and I, like many others have really started to think positively for the Club's future, but that report last night dragged me right back down again!!
Yes, I accept that the Club, like most others, has incredible problems, and how to get out of them I'm not sure, but the only way we can is to be positive in outlook and do whatever we can in the circumstances. Whinging and moaning about it won't cure anything!!!
If I were the Lymington Manager though I would record that interview and play it loud and clear to my players before the Cup Tie, with the message " They are S**t scared lads, get out there and stuff em"
We are step 3 Club at home to a much lower level club, why should we be afraid??, and that's not being arrogant it's fact, but we are talking ourselves out of the game before we start!! AND there is the small matter of £1500 at stake!!
Yes I know cup upsets happen, and long may they continue, or are we just getting our FA Cup defeat excuses in early???
Spencer, you know better than that, and If you don't mind, can I suggest one piece of advice, don't do interviews immediately after a game !!! Please wait a day or so and think about it!

I'd rather SD keeps doing interviews and keeps us informed instead of total silence which occured last season.
When he does an interview people criticise it, we he doesn't do one people critise the lack of information coming from the club. Then we are left with sparse updates with stuff that happenend weeks prior. I'd rather be kept in the loop and I see SD returning to do interviews as a step in the right direction.
Don't forget the hours of work FCVideo put into creating content for us. I, like many Farnborough supporters are really grateful for this sort of thing at our level.
To write something so negative is nonconstructive and rather insulting for them too.

I too am grateful for regular updates and reports from the Club, in whatever form.
My main concern is the negativity, and dourness, in the video interviews, which unfortunately is Spencer's way of delivery, and PR has never been his forte!! It's a very difficult art to put over.
Yes times are hard, and very difficult for all, but that report almost conceded defeat, and how do the players feel when hearing that?.
Reports from JR, and those through the main website, were much more beneficial in my view.

Rewatching that interview, I couldn't really see much negativity in it, unless you're referring to Spencer being anxious about the Lymington game. It does seem like they have a strong squad! I feel like he was just commenting on the issues that we're facing like Dunne, CJ and more being injured as well as some players leaving! I do think post match-interviews are a good idea, as it gives an extra viewpoint to what the manager thought of the game. SD is probably not trying to be negative either, maybe it's just the way he says it and talks about it. If the players do feel negative about it, then it certainly won't help against Woking, Basingstoke and beyond. Maybe I'm the one trying to look too much on the positive side here. But I think he should do more interviews like that, because as Seered says, it gives more insight as to what is properly going on at the club. I had no idea about the injuries before SD mentioned them! Hopefully the interviews don't negatively affect the morale of the players, because we could be in for a difficult ride if it does.

I'm with Bob on this one. First home friendly, great to be back, result irrelevant, whole season ahead of us. Be upbeat, bang the drum, encourage players and supporters alike. Take the positive... I listened and came away feeling we were bottom of the league at Christmas....
