Tom Broadbent played for us when in the Army (and went on to have a minor career at Football League level with Bristol Rovers and Swindon, possibly Cheltenham too?).
He's now playing for the latest north east club, South Shields, to spend loads-a-money trying to break out from the Northern League circuit and into the national league system (which is tough, due to the geography), they beat Scunthorpe at the weekend to advance to the first round of the FA Cup.
I still miss the to and fro on this forum when his dad, Eddy, had another of his run-ins with the powers that be!

Think he went to Eastleigh briefly after Swindon... Did enjoy watching him and thought he had a winning attitude taking no sh!t from anyone!

Scored the winner today for South Shields in the 1-0 win away at Whitby Town which secured promotion to the Conference North.
