We have been shocking this first half, the back 3 doesn’t work and Ricky is getting done on the left every time. Going forward we’ve been poor we loose the ball and don’t try to chase it down and it seems like we’re scared to shoot we’ve gone back to passing it 20 times in their box only to lose the ball.

Totally outclassed in the first half, although the first goal may have been chalked off by some refs with the no 9 having two hands on our defenders shoulders when he headed in, and the second was a lucky deflection from a tackle that fell straight to the feet of the oncoming forward!
Still persisting with the three at the back unfortunately and, as good as he is, Ricky is not a wing back!! Roll on the return of Freddie!!
Michael still flatters to deceive and is pushed off the ball very easily by defenders at this level.
Struggled to get in to the game first half and maybe they still had Tuesday's hair drier treatment ringing in their ears!!
Still trying to work out whether we got better or they slackened off second half, and with the multiple changes on both sides, it turned in to a fairly even game.
Mitch looks a yard short at the moment, but I was impressed with the pace of Hish who replaced him. Could be the find of the season!!
Dulwich though look as if they are going to be a hand full from what we see. Lets see what they are like in a few weeks time.

Agree with Bob's synopsis. Spencer's interview after today's game was interesting. - More upbeat than I expected from him. Thank God not a repeat of Leigh Dynan's dirge of last week...
- Hope the injured lads on both sides today are fit again soon
- Some not ready or fit enough for this level... He says...
- Not sure I agree that that goals against were due to "Sloppy errors"...?
- Respect for Jack's saves
- The whole squad in the middle for a non-match related issue at Hartley...
I can cope with this if Spencer plays football manager and stays well away from what happens on the pitch... Bring on the season proper!

I personally feel we’ve scheduled too many pre season games and the players are already feeling it. They are knackered as it’s not been a nice break back in so other teams in our league and above have only been playing the Saturdays where as we have gone in heavy Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday constant.

A substantial management team has been recruited since April, presumably because they are good at what they do. Perhaps they need some air to show how good they are? Just saying.

I really enjoyed the game. Pre-season matches are usually a bit tedious for me, but Saturday was certainly one of the better ones. I don’t think anyone who was there would begrudge Dulwich their half time lead, they were way the better side. Credit to Farnborough for taking the game to Dulwich right from the start of the second half and I felt we worked hard to deservedly get back into the game. It was only a fine flying save from their sub goalkeeper which prevented the game finishing 2-2. I was surprised we played this fixture because it wasn’t until I got home that I realised we meet them again in a few weeks time in the league - most managers/clubs would choose to avoid meeting a team from the same division in pre season. Whatever, they looked good in the first half and we looked good in the second, so plenty to look forward to when we meet again in August. Decent attendance on a hot, peak holiday time Saturday.

Yes, as I understand it, it was agreed pre pandemic times, when both Clubs were in different Leagues! Unfortunate that it has now arisen when we are both in National South, AND we meet so early in the campaign. As it happens, Andrew has now moved on again!! Ce La Vie!!

But, surely a simple conversation would have solved the problem?
Ah! it was about the money! Dulwich turn up for free for a friendly and the proceeds are banked by us.
But, that's still strange, as we clearly are investing in players in preparation for the season ahead, an investment that is speculative given no one really knows if those supporters who, with good reason, found other things to do during the earlier years of the Spencer era will now return to help pay the bills. Cashing in on a home friendly won.
Interesting.
I didn't go to the game, but would be concerned if our formation and tactics were anything like what we are planning to do when the real thing starts, as that would have been very dumb indeed. I daresay Dulwich were savvy enough to not reveal their hand either.

I daresay Dulwich were savvy enough to not reveal their hand either. Definitely not afraid to say I was one of those who had enough of spencer and gave up watching the boro my last season being 2013. I also said at the time I would never return until he went as I was fed up of the constant financial issues and league problems on top of the huge revolving door and inept management style with no clue as to what he was doing. Returned last season as in that time I had a child who took an interest in football and wanted to test his concentration at lower league before taking him to watch Fulham who I started following and had a season ticket for after I gave up on boro swapping one ffc for another. Am happy to say it was much more enjoyable last season and on the back of that I got a season ticket for this year and am hoping that not only can the players make the step up but also that Spencer has learnt and can make the step up. From what I have seen pre season having attended all games we have done well against the lower sides but struggled against sides at our now level or above. Tactically spencer is still learning but he needs to have a plan as if he carry’s on blindly hoping 3 at the back will work then we’re in trouble.

Tactically spencer is still learning? You would hope so after more than ten years at the Club, but the jury is definitely out on that one!!
Lets hope that Ricky's influence will rub off on him. ( IF he is prepared to listen!!!)
