I don't anticipate being able to attend all 23 home league games this season, which means a season ticket isn't a great thing for me.
I would, however, be interested in being able to buy say 10 tickets in advance to be used as and when able to attend. Perhaps even options of a book of 5, 10 or 15 tickets.
Assuming production costs allow it then if these were priced at a discount over 'at the gate' prices, that and a fast track through a pre-paid turnstile would be an attractive proposition. Could even be good gifts to encourage new supporters to come follow us?
The benefit for the club would be the revenue in advance. To ease admin tickets from a "book" could be non-refundable if the holder can't make that many games but allow them to be exchangeable to maximise support.
Would anyone else find this kind of ticket buying option attractive?

Interesting question as I am in exactly the same pondering position. I am considering a season ticket again, but am sure that with holidays and other family events could end up missing 4 or 5 home games over the season. In the past I have taken the hit and gone for the season ticket, missing some of the matches, I was more upset missing the matches than the cost ! As I am in the concession age ! Quite frankly I only have to attend 18 1/2 matches to be in profit with the early saver option so I am keen to arrange life around being here for home matches and pine when I miss the odd ones 😀😀

I work on the turnstile and will raise this question for you. Thank you duggy70. I appreciate that. Might be something that the directors would like to consider...

To put this into perspective, an early bird season ticket saves you approximately 20% The standard rate season ticket (after July 1st) saves you approximately 10% To stop undermining of season ticket sales, a book of 5 tickets would have to be discounted even less. 5% is only going to save you £3 over 5 games! Would this really be a viable, worthwhile exercise?

I get your point Phil and admit I've not done any maths on this, but I'm talking about an alternative to season tickets, whether early bird or not, which assume attendance of the majority of the 23 home games. My proposition was an alternative twist on getting revenue up front from anyone who found this an attractive idea, not a way to undermine season ticket sales, for committing up front to attend a smaller number of games than season tickets demand.
Always happy to have ideas shot down in flames..

You personally may do, and we might sell a couple as presents, but there's still a cost to the club. I'm not saying we wouldn't entertain an initiative like that, but you have to consider it from all angles.

OK Phil, you got me... I'll turn up when I can, queue up and pay the full whack on the gate.
I could carry on talking about buying a block of tickets in advance for 5, 10 or 15 matches throughout the year, to be taken as and when available, maybe with a tiny or no discount, and I think from the get go I raised the issue of whether the cost to the club outweighed the benefits, so have tried to consider it from all angles...
Whatever...

I'm not saying we wouldn't entertain an initiative like that, but you have to consider it from all angles. There is also the convenience factor, which has value. Walk up to the season ticket gate at 2:58pm, get in, job done. Or join the queue. That difference has value to people who turn up to watch a game who don't want to hang around outside the turnstiles.

Phil, I'm not looking for an argument, but if you read my initial proposition you'll see it included the prospect of admission through a pre-paid turnstile as an attractive advantage. All the best mate. Let's drop it now...
