I've had a thought this afternoon and I wonder whether it would be beneficial.
Is it worth having some sort of loyalty system in place for those that attend regularly? I feel it would encourage more people to attend and hopefully stay.
For example, if the club sends out a loyalty card to those that apply for it by a certain date, perhaps similar to the early bird system, they pay on the gate each time but also get their loyalty card stamped.
Following that, once they have X amount of stamps, they receive a perk from the club, such as:
Discount on food or merchandise Free entry to a home game Entry to hospitality Something else that would add even more value to their visit and keep them coming back.
Season tickets work well, but I do wonder how many we sell, particularly given there was a lot of discussion about the pricing this season. How many people are able to commit to a full season months in advance, I wonder? I know there are a lot of regulars who buy season tickets, but if you buy one, you would have to be able to commit to it to make the purchase worthwhile.
If we had a loyalty card, people can still choose to come along if they wish and spend as much money as they wish without feeling like they have to commit to it, like a season ticket would. I also believe it strikes a balance between hardcore supporters and casual supporters.
Just an interesting thought that I thought I'd raise. Interesting to see people's thoughts

Good shout.
I only miss a home game if I’m on holiday but I would never buy a season ticket, just because it’s a big outlay near the time of the kids birthdays and it’s not like I need one to avoid missing out. Saving £30-£40 a season just isn’t a big enough incentive for me to buy one.
However, a loyalty reward would certainly be appreciated and if for example it was pay on the gate for 9 home matches and get free entry to the 10th I reckon that would encourage some of the more fair weather supporters to turn up on a Tuesday night, which let’s be honest is the biggest challenge we have with attendance. 600 odd for the visit of 2nd in the league last week was gutting and I really empathised with Spencer’s frustration.

The trick is to price season tickets so there's a strong incentive to buy them. That didn't happen this season, but I'm not going through that argument again except to say the better supported clubs in this division all have season tickets priced at levels where it's a no-brainer for regular supporters to buy one even if they know they'll be missing games.
I'd also like to see an "any 10 games" season ticket aimed at shift workers, those with weekend family commitments etc, who cannot commit to buying a full ticket.

I got a season ticket last year for the first time and did renew eventually this season once it became worthwhile. Again not an argument I’m going to go into but hoping the club have learnt the lesson for next season.
Another idea could the club sell a half season ticket at the beginning of the season so gets you in to half the home games and you can choose which ones around your work /other commitments.
