It's not that long ago when some teams, Arsenal and Man Utd being notable offenders, deliberately orchestrated the hounding of referees en masse. Strongly worded "guidance" from the FA has pretty much put a stop to that.
I'm comfortable with the proposed change if it stops the deliberate foul in midfield that prevents the opposition from mounting a promising attack (Man City being a notable offender).

I just think it's becoming like an episode of Mrs Brown's Boys. It's meant be funny but you're not laughing and you wonder why they keep bothering.
If anything a blue card suggests no one trusts the referees to be able to do their jobs properly, hence the continous raft of new laws and technology and things. VAR was supposed to help and improve, it has done none of the above and is a monumental waste of time and ruins games. I don't waste my time and money on TV sports subscriptions that just feeds this money pit of bureaucracy and arrogant posturing pricks at the top of the game. Hence why I'm a Boro season ticket holder.
Let's be honest, it won't even be implemented properly. The big teams will continue to intimidate (when has that actually stopped?) and the refs will continue to ignore it.

Perhaps VAR could be used to check referee's blue card decisions...?
