Apologies to the club firstly but I think we are missing out on decent revenue stream. Yesterday I paid the extra and used the lounge to chat to former club stalwarts and remember and exchange stories about Ted Pearce. For 5 pound extra I got the use of the lounge and tea and coffee. But for 25 quid I could have had entrance, programme 2 course dinner and tea/coffee. I appreciate for some times are hard but take away entrance fee and programme your getting a decent 2 course meal and unlimited tea and coffee for 7.50 a head. Its cheaper then wetherspoons. Just think it's something the club could look at increasing the price to increase the budget. Even if it went up to 30 pound a head that's a decent 2 course meal for 12.50 and tea and coffee.

I too thought it was pretty good VFM when flagged by that lad, The Padded Seat, as published his ground visit last week www.facebook.com/reel/269662439462842 We're lucky to have such lovely hosts/hostesses who put this on and love looking after our fans and visitors.

You will, of course, have personal experience Rich of the way your Dad, John, was helped by everyone in the Platinum Lounge. Exceptional service from Kelly, Suzanne, Rita, Kevin and Paul made his time there so happy, culminating in them placing the floral tribute from his coffin, two days after his funeral, onto his seat for his recognition and applause day. A nice touch from some wonderful people.
Things may not be going so well on the pitch, but the off field hospitality is second to none!! There are some great people at this club!!
Well done all.

The problem is capacity Ginge. We only really have three tables we can sell, and that's once we know that sponsors are not using them, so we don't tend to push it. We are bound by league rules that visiting directors have direct access to their reserved seats, so they have to also be in the lounge so along with our club officials, that's the pitch side of the lounge taken. Until someone comes up with funds to extend the platinum lounge over the top of the main bar, it will remain a very personal area for entertaining at a match, and not really a commercial opportunity.

You've said it all there Bob. Thanks mate. Over the past 60 years I have been involved in many football, fishing, shooting and car/motorsport clubs and the defining factor in all the good ones are the people who run them and volunteer their time. Legends...

You hit a nerve there. I recall Terry & Janet Parr's plans to extend the Platinum Lounge over the ground floor level, and also to raise the ceiling as it's a tad low. As ever, the money wasn't available to do it. I'll leave it to those in the know to say if there's a viable business case to do it now. Terry's thoughts echoed what Ron Noades did at Crystal Palace back in the day, where, to access their seats in the main stand, supporters were forced to go via the bars and other "retail opportunities".
