Gave the ball away far too many times. The 2 previous games we got away with it because of Jack Turner and some poor finishing from the opposition.
I'm guessing the fact that Ricky and Selim stayed on the bench means they are still not match fit which compounds the Kuhl sending off even more.
The only positive today was from JNW.Seems to be back up to speed and was MOM.

Our first goal was a goal mouth scramble and our second a wonder strike - whilst you’d take them, neither were well worked as a team. Stupid tackle from Kuhl at the end and a needless suspension. Waiting for SD’d post match with interest….

a minor positive would be the new lad up top. Looks to have some pace and you could tell by his movement off the ball he’s a player. Now, if the lads knew they were allowed to pass him the ball….

I heard Jack ball tell a supporter before todays game when asked if he was fit to play "no not yet mate" Spencer then left CJ on the bench.
Selim was then taken to one side after the warm up for a fitness test, so we can only assume he's not quite ready.
Ricky took no part in the warm up so km guessing his back still isn't right, didn't look like he was walking properly when he came out midway through warm ups this afternoon.

From Borowalk on Twitter:
Overloaded with mistakes.
Out thought, out fought, out played. Crappy New Year everyone!
Can't say fairer than that, and we could well have had a similar score line in the last two games, Havant and Braintree, but we cobbled together two 1-0 wins and six points!!
As was said by someone as we left, we are just papering over the cracks really, which I agree with, and losing Sid in the first few minutes, left us exposed in the RB position again, and we were put to the sword fairly easily!!
I take nothing away from Havant though. They were bigger, stronger and quicker than us in every department, and only JNW gave a full blooded performance, and fully deserved MOM in my view, especially for that thunderbolt goal.
Not even the great JT could save us today either, although even he had to make a couple of excellent saves again.
So there you go, well played Havant. I'm sure you won't be in the bottom four for two long and, personally, if you can escape and we lose Dover and Welling, plus maybe Eastbourne and Taunton, you won't get any complaints from me!!
Fantastic to see 1300+ in the ground too, and the place is so different and buzzing when we do. Just a shame that the result didn't match it!!
Who's got the Spencer Bingo cards? Come on dish them out!! Dabbers at the ready!!
Happy New Year everybody. On to Stalebuns!!
COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!

Spencer didn't substitute because apart from Mukuna the whole bench where carrying injuries including Jack Ball. As were 50% of the starting 11.

Decapitated by 4 break-away goals when seconds earlier we'd been attacking the oppo's goal. Or at least that's how it felt today. Dismal. JT made some good stops. JN-W goal was a peach.
Ricky must have been unfit or it was a travesty to not bring him on at 2-2 to push for the win.
Spencer reverted to hands in pockets, slumped shoulders, inanimate and with zero empathy with the players or apparent interest in trying to win the game. We do want to Win, don't we..?
Zouma, on being substituted and told to leave the field on the far side, then choosing to walk off past via the 18-Yarders/PRE boys rather than H&W supporters at the other end, produced some instant quality banter to lift the spirits!
All in all we fizzled out like the fireworks let off in the park behind the MRE...

If that's the case you recall fit players from their loans. There's 3 that have been shipped out. Kuhl and Reggie suspended now. Pruti recalled. Ho hum. Spencer's interview blames the centre backs. Then goes on to blame the other players too. Calls them all gutless and says he's been hurt by them and is going to ship them out. Still, right wing-back coming in on loan apparently.

Central midfield is key. And just like against Braintree, there was little to admire (we got away with it in the last home game).
How many telling balls came from our midfield today? None. Cullen and Ghandour were running their socks off to create pockets of space, but they may as well have not bothered as there was no delivery (lumping aerial balls towards their giant defenders doesn't count).
So, how well did our midfield screen our defence today? Quite simply, they didn't do it at all, giving H&W the freedom of the park to clamber all over us and get plenty of one-on-ones, which they duly profited from.
We know our defence isn't a strong point, but exposing it like that time after time can mean only one result, unless, like Braintree, the oppo enjoys missing open goals.
Unfortunately for us, H&W weren't Braintree.
Work is needed, urgently, as we've been found out and will get more of the same unless things change pretty darn quickly.

2 of them are only on a month's loan. So they cannot be recalled.

Credit where it's due, despite some often heard criticism of players and their commitment, I thought that Spencer accepted some of the responsibility for today's disappointing display in front of a bumper crowd. And, I for one accept his apology for the shit-show we were served up. He knows that he has to improve, not just the players.
Learning that Pruti has been recalled explains why he was uncharacteristically crap today. Penders also recalled I think. He spent most of the game hiding behind H&W players ensuring no-one could pass to him. Heart's not in it.
It's been great having a couple of bumper crowds and a few results over Christmas, but now we head into the reality of a cold January and February which will sort the men from the boys.

Don’t like the revolving door but changes are absolutely necessary.

2 of them are only on a month's loan. So they cannot be recalled. Poor management then. Spencer should have the foresight to realise the amount of cover required. Perez should have never gone out on loan. He never let us down and there is clearly more than enough room for him in the squad. Lessons from last season have transparently not been learnt, despite Spencer previously acknowledging in an interview that we would need a bigger squad to be able to remain competitive for the entire season.

Agree, the apology is appreciated and it’s nice to hear him take some responsibility. Pendlebury is not on loan, his contract is up. I like him and think he’s a good player but he hasn’t played that well the last couple of months. That being said I’d keep him over Maloney who is a really talented player but his effort and work rate without the ball today was embarrassing. I eagerly await to see what business we will do over the next week or so. Interestingly no one appears to have picked up on what he said (or didn’t say) in relation to Folivi. It appears to me he will be out of the door this week after Spencer very clearly insinuated a lack of commitment on his part.
