Not football, but a local issue that will affect all of us at one time or another. Frimley Park Hospital must be replaced by 2030 for reasons explained in the linked article. The latest thinking is the replacement hospital needs to be built on a new site as the existing site is too small. Answers on a postcard please as to where such a large site (130,000m2 or 32 acres) exists. Perhaps knocking down an under-utilised business park such as Watchmoor, which is full of empty office blocks? The whole of the Thames Valley is awash with empty industrial units so in terms of ‘available’ potential sites then there’s plenty… The main issue is property & land price underpins the nation’s economy and the sites are owned by pension funds in the most, so will be unlikely to ‘sell’ a tangible asset even if it is realising zero revenue for the foreseeable and I doubt an incredibly weak govt. like the current one that is in hock to the financial services industry would have the cajones to compulsory purchase the land for the nation and make something sensible and demonstrably needed happen.

As the Hospital trust is, as it proclaims on its welcoming board, in partnership with the Ministry of defence, then I'm sure there maybe sufficient redundant army land available in the area.
They found enough for all those houses in Aldershot and Deepcut!!

Don’t be surprised when you find out the entire MoD estate was privatised and is nothing to do with the MoD any more!
