Some weird substitutions by Spencer, but I can't fault the sheer effort from the players, who are understandably shattered now.
Hopefully the club can start working on improving our attendances pre-season. It was good to see the school of the week back on Saturday and the kids and their parents at the game. I think this really boosted the numbers.
Next year we will have some pretty big teams bringing decent numbers including Yeovil, Torquay, Maidstone etc, plus the new boys such as WSM and Bracknell (possibly) and that will boost our crowds, but we also need to "grow our own".
Not sure what our average is, but it has to be reasonably up on last season?

There is also the possibility of Bishops Stortford and Leiston, Going to be interesting seeing who is shunted to T'North for next season.

Having already replaced Johnny O with Freddie, and Ricky (60 mins theses days only) being clattered and struggling, plus Mason playing through a hammie, it did seem a strange sub choice!
CJ maybe, but Nic?? sorry mate, a step too far now!! and why not Silva or Alfie instead?
We lost any semblance of shape after that and just fell apart.
Wrong decisions on the field maybe, but those off the field must take some of the blame as well!!
A wonderful season and disappointment at the end, but fair play to all involved for some good times overall, and roll on next season!
COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!

Spencer did mention taking responsibility in his interview.

Bizarrely this includes the Hayes and Biggleswade FA Cup games (I thought we played away at H&Y?) and the Braintree FA Trophy which between them will bring the average edown. BUt we really should be above the likes of Slough, Dover, Welling etc who have all had mediocre seasons. An increase of 100 a game is not much following promotion.

Dulwich is a skewed attendance figure. Yes they probably pay to get in so, technically attendees, but of the 2400 average, I reckon around 400 actually watch the football. The rest are young, real ale specialists, there for the occasion rather than the football. Good income for the Club though. Wonder where it all goes?? Not on playing staff by all accounts this season!!
Ebbsfleet average is poor considering the outlay, and Championship winning football played.
Worthing is a reflection of Brighton's good form and those following Worthing when Brighton are away, greatly encouraged by the Evening Argus newspaper, and local radio. So someone at Worthing is doing some good work PR wise!
St. Albans surprisingly good. We'll find out on Saturday!
The rest of the top ten, are all traditional old clubs with good following.
The rest of the League are all on a par but, could be better, and maybe that's why they are nearly all outside the playoff areas, apart from Oxford of course who have had a fantastic season considering!! Wonder how they will fare if they win the playoff's?? Average will obviously increase with greater visiting attendances if they did.
Trouble is, supporters won't just come to you, although ours IS slightly creeping up!!, you have to go and get them, spread the word, and it all revolves around what happens on the pitch!!
PR to the community is paramount in everything!! I think we are getting there, but it won't happen overnight. We just have to keep working at it!!
COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!

Also be worth considering that half our games at home have been midweek this season. I’m sure that brings our figure down slightly compared to being play on a Saturday.

More than "slightly" in my opinion. Tuesday night games equal minimum numbers of away fans, far fewer local youngsters, students, workers with early starts and older fans who feel the cold even more on midweek winter evenings.
There is also the issue that so many postponed Saturday home games works against newer supporters getting the Boro' habit, as it's difficult cementing club/new supporter relationships when our Saturday home fixtures are no longer predictable.
