Did I see earlier in March that our match at Chelmsford was being live streamed???
Is that still the case?

I think it's still happening, and I hope it is being shown in the Clubhouse?? Would be good to get a few of us down there to help the bar profits, rather than sitting at home!!

National League TV's terms and conditions do not allow this, unless express permission is sought and obtained beforehand (why would they agree to sell one subscription when they can sell more?). Extract:- 2.8. You must not (nor authorise or permit any other person to):
2.8.2. use NATIONAL LEAGUETV other than for private and domestic purposes. Under no circumstances must NATIONAL LEAGUETV nor any content be accessed or used for commercial or business purposes, without our prior written consent;Link:- www.nationalleaguetv.com/terms-conditions

One on hand that makes sense from a business standpoint.
However, getting more people down to the bar to watch creates more of a community and encourages more people to come down regularly to watch their team play in the league that they're promoting.
Interesting conundrum but I get where they're coming from.

Oh dear, that's a shame. Seemed a good idea, but not to be! Hope the Club gets some for of payment for the TV rights!

Where is the link for our game? I'm not too sure how to access it.

On the Club main site, under news, scroll down to page three or four, can't remember. It was about three weeks ago, and much has happened since then!!
Enter the National League TV web link, and further down under packages is another link to purchase a pass for the day.
I assume, you can only buy them on the day of the match, but ours is definitely listed as being screened.
No mention of prices either!!

Ha ha! The Conference, a.k.a. the National League, are hopeless at this stuff. It reminds me of the Southern League when Denis Strudwick was doing the fixtures off the back of a fag packet. That didn't end well one year when the announced fixtures were withdrawn and re-done due to a pretty serious, "What the hell are you doing?" -style cock-up.
So, I've ventured to the main National League site ... where are the teasers that say you can watch National League games live onine? A clue, the answer is there aren't any. Which fits, as the National League website is dire compared with the Isthmian and even the Southern League at providing basic info that fans may want to know about.
Then, 'cos I'm internet savvy (well-ish), I find via Google there is a separate National League TV site (not linked to from the main site). Doh! Major fail.
But I persist, and can view a list of forthcoming fixtures - that strangely doesn't include our game at Chelmsford - with the only requested action being to "Log in to watch".
Erm, guys, how about setting out your stall to say "Watch your team live for just £10" (or whatever price is being asked for). That might be an idea.
It's almost as if I've time-travelled back 10+ years and am surrounded by dimmer end of the spectrum media studies students who really ought to have been told to get a job instead of continuing their "education".
Totally amateur-hour.

It has now been updated. Our game is displayed on the fixture list. However, according the National League TV email that I spoke to (nationalleaguelive@streamamg.com), they said "The passes might have to be made available I would suggest waiting until the day or the day before"
Looking at the site at the moment, they are only displaying passes for today (3rd) and tomorrow (4th) so that would make sense.
Also, something to note. There is a pass on there for £180.00, which clearly states "This Match Pass gives access to fixtures on Tuesday 4th April only for commercial premises." Going by what Nigel said earlier in the thread, this completely contradicts their T&Cs.
So I'm guessing it's touch and go as to whether it will be shown behind the bar or not.

I have spoken to The National League today. They have advised me that passes will be available from www.nationalleaguetv.com later this week (potentially from tomorrow). The Club will be releasing more information around passes, including how to buy them, on the official website in the coming days. We will not be screening the game live at the Club, as we benefit financially from the more individual passes that are sold. As always, as soon as more information is available, we will publicise. Thank you for your patience.

Thank you Dom. I totally get it that the Club are bystanders while being in the hands of amateurs. *sigh*

Thank you for your patience. Don't understand the point of making more money by not streaming it I cant lie. People who want to stay at home will and will pay anyway, but those that would want to go to the club would go down and on average probably spend more per head over the bar than they would on streaming cost. This is before we even consider any split costs with the National League and the home side. Would also be nice for the club to have some fans down on a Friday all cheering the club on. I mean if it wasn't being streamed we wouldn't be making any money anyway. Missed opportunity for me.

As this is only a trial by the tv company, there are things to learn from both sides. If a commercial pass is £180-00 it would make sense to purchase one and get the return from supporters turning up when they wouldn't normally!!
There could also be a collection bucket in the bar to help offset the cost, plus the extra beer sales!!
I shall be watching at home, unless something changes, and I believe the Club gets a small rebate from the number of sales purchased, so it's not totally for nothing!!
Maybe next time we can do something different, or maybe regularly, IF we manage promotion!!

But I don't think our club have any say in the matter. The National League decide how it works, not individual clubs. The rules will be the same for everyone. They make money out of people buying the passes. They wouldn't be interested in individual "deals" with clubs based on bar takings etc
