Well, we got out of jail there!! How many chances did we not take, and fair play to concord, they came with a park the bus plan, and we didn't/couldn't move it, and we concede a sucker goal too boot!!
All change when Ricky came on and we peppered them for the last few minutes, but it still didn't look like a result for us.
Two good strikes, from Mason and Ricky in the 93rd minute!!! gave us three valuable points when most of us had written them off!!
We are still in the mix, and on to Saturday for another HUGE game with Worthing.
COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!

Scrappy goal bundled in at the far post from a corner. Now got to beat 10 men sitting behind the ball twice! Mission Accepted and Completed

Fantastic finish to the game. JAck T made a great save to prevent the 0-2 (was he at fault for the Concord goal?). Another long ball game - but it paid off. Their keeper made a couple of fine saves - but we also crossed too many into his hands. Thought Concord played well for 80 mins. How are they bottom?

Bloomin 'eck! It's so stressful, we deserve medals for supporting the mighty Farnborough... I even saw Spencer slumped over the hoardings in anguish when we missed another close chance second half! Before kick off we confidently discussed putting the bottom of the league team away in the first half and then sit back and enjoy our brilliance until full time. Nope. Instead, let's play a brain dead, Sunday League version of football where Jack boots it upfield only for it to come straight back at us and end up in an attack or corner, etc. in the oppo's favour. IT DOES NOT WORK! Their goal came from one of these plays... When rolled out to a defender and moved up through midfield, we hold possession longer and look like making chances. At half time, we agreed this is a Ricky Holmes game. Flair, talent, creativity. Need him on to cut through their flat defences and make sh*t happen. At 70 mins three things happened: Ricky came on, Brian Blewett turned up and I put my lucky Farnborough woolly hat on - and Hey Presto! So relieved for the players, staff, fans sponsors and footy lovers that we didn't screw that up tonight. Great atmosphere and camaraderie between players, staff and fans at the end Happy Days. Go again Saturday...

I'll have to disagree with a couple of posts above this one. Concord not only didn't park the bus, they gave it a real go and were far from bottom of the table cannon fodder. Their central striker gave Kevin Lokko a far harder time than he's been used to. I can only recall one piece of blatant time-wasting, for which their right-back was rightly given a yellow card.
It was a game with plenty of bright play from both sides, but the cutting edge was lacking. After conceding the softest of openers, when Jack appeared to completely lose the flight of the ball from a cross, we huffed and we puffed without looking particularly convincing.
But, sometimes, it's not about great flowing moves, it's about great individual skill. Step forward Mason Bloomfield, who took a perfect first touch and absolutely rifled a left foot shot into the bottom corner (I had no idea he even had a left foot before tonight!), then, deep into stoppage time, Ricky Holmes, on as sub, pounced on a loose ball on the edge of the box and drilled an unstoppable shot into the same corner. Cue scenes!
Phew!
On to Saturday, when Worthing visit. Our home record isn't all that while their away record is very good, and they'll be smarting as they're no longer in a play-off position.
So it's a big one. Bring your friends to cheer us on.

Concord have 5 games in hand so may well avoid the drop if they keep playing like they did tonight. They are limited but played to a plan and their strengths and were lively on their few breaks and against worse teams than us should have more joy.

But playing twice a week, and in one of those weeks, three times, is a hard ask at this stage of the season. I suspect they're doomed.

So, eleven players in their own box, particularly in the first half, ISN'T parking the bus? Agree they had a couple of quick forwards, who broke quickly, and the big fella gave Lokko a torrid time, but I felt they came for a point, realised we didn't have the right heads on and THEN went for it, but initially it was hold what we have in desperation, and they nearly got it, until they tired, and Rikky started to pull some strings.
Oh, and by the way Richard, that was Brian BLEWETT that came in late, not Brian Berger, as I'm sure Spencer reads this website!!

I thought Concord gave it a good go but are ultimately where they are for a reason. Their goal was from a rare JT error but I guess he has loads of credit in the bank. Their number 2 was booked for inciting the crowd after reacting to the 18 yard boys by wiping his eyes as if he was crying when they were 1 up. I was confident that if we got one we'd get more and so it proved to be. Two well taken goals but my god how many did we miss? Onto Saturday (If it's on) and a massive game. UP THE BORO 🟡🔵
