Fairly comfortable 4-1 in the end, and could well have been a few more, but they kept going at us and, with some luck, may well have got back at us, but they were pretty woeful at the back, and we should have buried them!! Three points is what matters, and what a player that Tommy Willard is, excellent game and well deserved hat trick. Shots are safe enough, so we are keeping him until the end of the season, I hope!!
Amusing highlight of the night?? An elderly gentleman with an away supporters scarf, and walking stick, sitting in amongst the Boro Supporters, standing up to tell our boys to shut up, when we are 3-1 up and pushing on!!
Elderly away supporter in amongst home supporters, looking for a ruck?? I mean?? come on!! Not very much asking for it, was it??, Or very intelligent!!
He was still glaring for a reaction as we walked down the steps at the end as well!! Dear oh dear!! Maybe he would like to go over to the P.R.E. corner next time?? If there is one!!

Enjoyed that, once we got into our stride. Not something that it's been possible to say for a few games but we've proved that when we put our mind to it, we can give anyone a game, whether Ebbsfleet or Slough. It's just so annoying that we threw points away against some of the better teams recently, but I guess that's football, what with injuries, cancelled games, etc.
Undeniable that Slough weren't much opposition although if it hadn't been for a great save from Jack in the first half, the game may have taken a different shape. Proper strikers goals by Tommy - nice one son! Some great photos out there by Dave Bodymore on Facebook too - laces through the ball, and all that!
Just need to get back in the habit of keeping clean sheets..
As for Mr Grumpy, aggressive, sneering old Slough geezer complaining that he's paid ten quid to watch a game and all he can hear is us cheering on Farnborough! Dearie me...

Much better energy levels tonight (to use the current vernacular), something which has been missing for a while.
Which made a big difference, but there were three other factors:-
1. Lovatt being played deep in midfield, well behind Page. A far better balance, enabling Jon and Salim to test Slough's defence to destruction. 2. The strikers clearly have been told to shoot early as opposed to manufacturing "perfect" opportunities. Willard's hat-trick was well deserved and demonstrated a hard-to-find capability for nerveless, accurate finishing, while Bloomfield also more than pulled his weight with an effective and productine display. 3. Slough weren't at full strength through injury and their wheels came off, despite them looking bright when they got into the final third.
Good stuff. We are back in the position where the oppo worry about us more than we worry about them.
On we go.
