True to his word, Spencer did say it would be a tough old game, and it certainly was. Not helped by the decimation of the squad, for various reasons, in the days leading up to the match, and even in the morning!!, meaning a total re-jigging and players playing in unfamiliar places. CJ playing as a STRIKER??, but fair does he put in a great shift, but then again he always does!!
Great efforts towards the end of the 90, saved by the keeper, bodies in the way and just getting tangled up in the effort, but you just knew it wasn't going in.
Then Pens, and the practice paid off, plus super Liam in goal coming up trumps again!!
Entertaining game, but so glad we snuck it, PLUS the £1500 to boot!!
My M O M was definitely Tom Leggett, superb covering at the back.

232 @ average of £11 attendance = £2552. Payments to Officials, and players, costs towards putting the game on, plus covering Lymington' travelling expenses, as per FA rules, will more than likely very quickly eat in to that, and allowing for the win bonus from the competition, which usually doesn't come back until the competition ends in May, means a potential loss financially on the day.
Bar and tea bar sales were good, so maybe offset a bit, but still a long way from big money! Life at non league eh?
Then in the newspaper today is an article reporting on Deli Ali, £100,000 a week at Spurs, showing of his new chauffeur driven £350,000 Rolls Royce!!!
Supporters unable to get to games, Spurs laying staff off, people sick and worse, around the country, and he shows this form of arrogance? That just shows the sad side of the Premier League, and they STILL splash millions on transfer fees???
Yes they did just dribble a small amount down to " the peasants" of non league, and we 'ave to be 'umble sir, but it's only a 'token' gesture, and they could do so much more, IF they wanted to, but they don't!!

Thanks Jules for the up dates. It's a good start to the season with a win, even on penalties in the cup. So now on to the league and hope for a win.
