There's plenty of coaches working alongside him, Leigh and Ricky both have plenty of experience.

Indeed.
With respect, we know from years of experience that only one person carries the responsibility of selecting the squad, bringing in loanees, greasing the revolving door, picking the team each week...
I am very positive about our club this year and as frustrated as everyone else that we're just a goal or two, or even a lucky break away from getting over this difficult start. We deserve more...
But, I maintain that it's not all about players and the lack of introspection from Spencer is not helping find a positive way forward. [EDIT] For example, playing 3 at the back and Reggie all over the park.

What we really need is a poacher in the mould of Perry Coles, Connor Cullen or Dave Tarpey. Someone who is going to bust a gut to get into the box when we are attacking and gamble on flick ons but where do we find one? Emmanuel at Hayes or Minhas at Beaconsfield??

It doesn't help when you play your best attacking winger at FULL BACK!!
How many times do we have to say it.. three at the back does not work!!!!!
Last night Freddie and Jordan on the same left hand side of the pitch?, with Michael on the naughty step. No one to play right back?, but Jack Ball was on the bench?
Yes Reggie ran his nuts off, and was by far the MOM, but he would have been so much more effective as an attacker!!!!. They were petrified of speed when someone did run at them, as most defenders are!
I agree with Between the Sticks, Spencer signs the players and arranges the loanees, selects the teams and the formations, and subsequently takes a share of match time responsibilities also, or does he leave that to Ricky when he is on the pitch?
Sometimes the answers are found in the mirror (not the newspaper version), although the 'Sun' always gets it right I'm told ( except at Highbury)!!
We are very close to a really good side, and I'm sure it will come good soon, but a little less tinkering, and a big dollop from Lady Luck, will do wonders.
Lets hope it starts Saturday. COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!

As we said the other day, Spencer making comments of "stepping up" and "Small margins" is all well and good, but at the end of the day the manager selects the team!
We have excellent quality players, and we're suited to four at the back. So why are we changing what works? Spencer said himself that he's sick of speaking about small margins and stepping up. If we play four at the back with the players in the right positions, then we will be able to challenge more.
Spencer knows his players inside out. His ability to understand everything about everyone he has or is playing against is excellent, but to me that just seems to fall apart tactically on matchday!
Swindon S on Saturday, won't be taking any prisoners. So we have to put out the right team.

Yes, love to see those two back in the squad. Not heard much about them recently. Maybe that's Spencer's secret weapon!!

We’ll Spencer did say in his interview after the Hayes game something along the lines of we’re working on some things with Hayes, which I took to mean either hodges return or Emmanuel coming in. I’d be happy with both options or both but can’t see Hayes letting both go unless they need to free up finances

I think if they were to let either of them go it would be Hodgy, but then his job gets in the way at this level, so it's a tricky one.

Selim seems to have disappeared off the radar too?
I'm pleased that some people are now recognising what I've been saying all along - that Spencer is no manager. He's never played at any significant level and his record over the years has not been good.
If he didn't own the club he would have been sacked a long time ago, and even taking this season in isolation, at every other club, he would be close to being dismissed now.
It's time for him to move upstairs and become a Director of Football, and then we can get someone with experience in. Spencer's good at sourcing talent, so I'm sure he would excel at that.
When it comes to the "R" word - we don't have the benefit of other clubs in having any kind of "new manager bounce" which could cost us as the season goes on.

Unfortunately unless someone buys the club I can’t see Spencer going anywhere no matter what. We will shift on good players before spencer steps down. I feel even if the fans started getting on his back the club will hide behind having a small budget one of the lowest in the league and being sustainable.

Hammer, Nail, Head the last two posts, but, frustratingly, we have to live with it, as we have for the last ten years or s!!.
Management wise, it ain't gonna change any time soon folks, unless someone wins the Euro lottery and gets a big enough win to splodge some of it into a football club, not caring if it doesn't come back!!, or Spencer gets sick of the whole thing and decides to sell, so we have to just go with the flow.
Good times, bad times, it's a game of football after all.
It's not a bad afternoons entertainment really, and cheap compared with the plastic unreal world of the PL!!
