We’ll done everyone a much needed win, now to move on to concord rangers and hopefully thinking about back to back victories. Hopefully we can also find the net a bit more as not sure my nerve’s can take these tight 1 goal games all season.

Well, that was ugly.
A poor game on a poor pitch that clearly has suffered from the summer drought. Two teams bereft of confidence after early season set-backs facing up. What's to like?
Were we miles ahead of Cheshunt in terms of quality? Yes. Did we make it count? Well, just about, but only just. A really scrappy goal decided it and we had to rely on Jack Turner and some last-ditch defending to keep them out at the death.
We are far better than this. The key issues have been getting the balance right in midfield and up front. Today, again, we were treated to another up-front pairing that didn't work. Here's a clue to management, there's only one combination you haven't tried yet and I reckon, given a couple of decent training sessions this week, this pairing could be far more effective than what we've seen so far. Think Ferdinand and Kasimu (you'll thank me).
The other issue is, having so many natural wingers in the squad, there's an embarrassment of riches out wide, but at the expense of the bit in the middle. The bit that controls the game, calms things down (when needed) and also has the creativity to spring an attack. Definitely a work in progress here.

Wasn't at the game yesterday Nigel, but I go with the 'nearly there' theory for the team.
We've played four/Five of the Leagues strongest Clubs, and two of, what I call 'our level' Clubs, so a reasonable return which can only get better!!
Jack, superb as ever, ( just hope he keeps fit!!), back three/four/five very capable and we look as solid there as we have been for many a year. ( Kiss of death for Saturday)
Across the middle, there are several combinations but, as yet, the correct one hasn't been found. Ricky and Sam plus Michael and Reggie all great ball players, but we don't have the 'Steve Laidler' type of ball winner to let them do their stuff, yet!!
Thought Kenny might be the one, but now sadly injured, maybe Omar, Page or Pendelbury can step up, or even CJ when fit?
Up front? well maybe the Liam/Hish combination would wok well as you suggest and certainly worth a go. I assume Tony will return to Poole soon!!
Still early days and loads of options to pick throughout the squad.
CJ, Kenny, Robbo, Ade, Freddie, and Saied hopefully returning soon, and Spencer mentioned Mitch still being around, so plenty to pick from when we get them all fit.
It will come good. We are firing on three cylinders at the moment, but when the fourth plug kicks in we can start motoring!!, maybe not to the top level, but I'm sure we will be ok.
Roll on Saturday.
COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!
