Looking at the current squad, we have a very small team. Two goalkeepers, seven defenders, four midfielders and a striker. Are there some people in the team that can play multiple roles, e.g. a primary Left back playing at left mid.
I'm just concerned that we won't have enough strikers, that's all, as we've lost Reggie and Rene, whilst Perry Coles and Marc Charles Smith left last season. Is there an issue here that quickly needs addressing or is it just that, if the right formation is used, players can adapt to new positions?

Player Registrations are due with The Southern League by Saturday 5 September. The Club will provide an update after that date.

Probably more than we know about at the moment Tom, as is usual during p s f times.
I'm sure there will be a fuller squad come the season start, even if some are loanees or extended trialists!
There's bound to be a huge filtering down of players as well, due to bigger clubs cutting costs.
No panic yet!

Players tumbling down the levels this season is a given. Many will be resentful, while others will half-heartedly give it a go. Many will leave the professional game altogether. The trick, from the Club's perspective, will be to pick up players who have ambition and who are prepared to work hard to get there. The last thing we need is players who, technically, are good but their heart isn't in it.

I guess Tom is looking at the website? That's just last year's squad updated to exclude players who have definitely left. It's not the forthcoming season's squad. The entire squad could change yet.

According to Spencer’s interview John Oyenuga has left.
Tony Halsey is back.
He mentions Louis Dunne, who we had on loan from Colchester last season and was released this summer. Presumably he’s signed permanently for us?
Anyone know who the “James” he refers to is? I feel I should be able to work it out but am drawing a blank.

I know he mentioned Tanner and Oyenuga, which is a shame with a few players like Louis Dunne and CJ and Allawode Williams picking up injuries. It's going to be difficult against Lymington. I'm not sure who 'James' is either.

Really sorry to see John go. Don't ever remember seeing him have a bad game. He left before though didn't he so you never know. I'm now expecting great things from Tony Halsey. I really didn't rate him when he was here before but then I never rated Simon Moore either so what do I know. I stand to be corrected.

Is Tony Halsey the guy who had a ponytail , a striker who appeared a few games last season? If so, from what I remember he will need to improve if he is to be successful at this level. Also is Francis still at the club?

That's the guy Peter. Models himself on Andy Carroll!! Didn't look at all fit last night, but did crash a shot against the post late on when the keeper fumbled one. Needs to beef up a bit, and improve his jumping skills. For a tall lad didn't win anything upstairs, so I hope he improves as we go along.

Thanks Bob, as I said and also mentioned by Pugh, I was not impressed with Halsey from what I saw of him last season. Bob did Francis play last night? I thought he played really well for us last season. We always looked more organised in defence when he played. A real pity that John O has left and wish him well with regard his study for a Master's. Besides John O i also think Spencer will find it hard to replace Reggie,Rene and Bernie. Just my opinion but thought Bernie when he played was a better option than Seth last term, although appreciate Seth was not fully fit.

AJ is on his way. I wish him the very best of luck in making the breakthrough to show his skills at a higher level.
