Six minutes added!!!!!!!! There's a surprise!
Great effort today lads against a very expensive, full time side, and we gave them a fright, ably assisted, once again, by poor officialdom.
Apparent soft pen for them when we had just equalised, and one for Reggie turned down. That's what top clubs get!!!
Could/should have got some thing from that. It was never going to be easy but we can still turn it around.
One final thought OMAR CALM DOWN FFS!!!!!!!!!

What can we do to make a better fist of taking our chances?
Genuine question...

The best part of that Rich is that we are at least making the chances against top class sides!! Keep at it and it will come good.
Somewhere during the season luck has to go our way surely??
Ebbsfleet, very solid, full time and very experienced, but we made them wobble a bit after we equalised, and they got what sounded a soft pen just after, but the good sides will always find a way.
Visitors don't get much luck at Anfield, or Ethiad, for instance do they? Certainly with penalty decisions, even with VAR!!
All games in this League will be a BIG test. Lets just enjoy it!
See you Saturday.

Fair from an Ebbsfleet point of view, granted. But .. In the first half Ebbsfleet played the ball around us until both teams were dizzy. Yes, we relied on some last ditch challenges and good saves to stay level, but they weren't that great. Then Deering played a stinker of a pass out from the back - a couple of touches later it was 0-1. We had two one-on-ones after we'd finally woken up and realised they were not that bright at the back. Their (reserve?) keeper did well to smother both, but the finishing was lacking. After half-time they thought they were cruising it and fannied around once too often. Norville-Williams swept on to a lazy cross-field pass, advanced and left everyone in the ground questioning where the keeper was as his shot pillowed the net at the near post. Game on. But, not so much. Reggie Young, who's learning how to defend (he played very well, by the way), got caught out, catching a foot instead of the ball. A pen. was duly converted (top marks to Jack Turner, who previously has had a bad habit of diving far too early, virtually pointing the way home to the taker - this time he got pretty close to saving it). Then another defensive balls-up, defenders on the wrong side resulted in an emphatic finish. There's definitely a learning curve here. But, and here's the good thing, we fought back and scared the proverbial out of them. It can be summed up by saying two of their subs were defenders for defenders. That wasn't working so well for them and, after extreme pressure, the ball broke loose to Lokko 20 yards out and he drilled the ball into the net. Game on again. We hit the bar and their central-defenders were looking like rabbits in the headlights trying to cope as our subs, Ferdinand and Kasimu's, strength in the air was causing major problems. Ah. And then Omar Rowe got caught up in a scrummage when other referees might have called a foul, but he took matters into his own hands and wildly swiped at his opponent. Red card. Rowe was substituted for his own good at Hemel and has been red-carded at Ebbsfleet. Perhaps it's time to give his head a wobble if he's serious about making it at this level or better? Into stoppage time with nine outfield players and pressing on, we got caught out, so 4-2 it was. The Nigel L ratings can wait for another day, but my MotM by a country-mile was Michael Fernandes. It appears Ricky has got hold of Michael to turn him from being a talented lad with plenty of major flaws into a true team player. Good.
