Hottest day ever, a hard bumpy sloping pitch, and players that looked as though they would rather be on the beach, and don't really want to be here!!
Our persistance with a back three, almost got us in to trouble, as the flanks were constantly exposed by Hartley driven wide ball, and only changed slightly when we reverted to a back four in the second half.
Changes to both sides, water breaks, and apparent general half arsed attitudes, and Spencer's half time rant, in the centre circle, which could probably be heard in Fleet, brought about a dreadful 0-0 result.
I blame the heat!! Well I hope that was the reason!! But if we don't sharpen up all round there will be tears!!!!!!!!!!

We were awful their no 11 and 7 tore us apart constantly first half with Ricky holmes put on his backside multiple times. Second half changes seemed to stop them slightly but again we didn’t threaten their goal. Spencer’s Phil brown re-enactment was amusing and could be heard by everyone. Enjoyed him telling them all if they didn’t want to listen or improve they could be moved on. Jack kept us in the game. I’m wondering if spencer has scheduled too many friendlys and the guys are now struggling.

I saw pace and power tonight. But enough about Hartley Wintney.
The hot weather has not been kind to their pitch, I genuinely feel for the ground staff, who must be doing the best they can. But, that meant HW could still do what they do (long balls in the air aren't much affected by the pitch, in my experience) and we soon found out trying to play our preferred game would be a fool's errand.
We changed formations, personnel and ended up in a right old muddle, where even delivering simple short passes accurately eluded us. We looked increasingly miserable as the second half wore on. That said, there were several positives to take from this game and from Woking on Saturday; the individual players who did well, the management noticing a few who seem to be struggling to make the step up successfully (which is best resolved sooner rather than later for all concerned), and that we are not yet tactically mature enough to fluidly switch formations (which, among other things, is what pre-season is for).
I'd prefer it if the expletive-strewn half-time rant at the players sat in the centre circle is never repeated. Spectators with young families didn't need to hear that.

Oh for two good full backs eh Nigel? Yes we have Freddie, who I hope will be back soon, plus Louie who came on second half, and will do a job for you, and hopefully will tie the right back position down.
The 16 Trialist RB, second half, look the part in physic, but doesn't seem to fit in to well. If that is the same guy that gave a way the two goals V Wimbledon, then jury is definitely out!
CJ works hard, and gives his all but isn't a LB although he did well second half when we reverted to a back four rather than insisting on a back three, which leaves us wide open down the flanks!!
Reggie works hard as a wing back, but that isn't really his game and Michael is very hit and miss doing the same job, and as for asking Ricky to do it??? well words fail!!
Johnny O, stop messing about, and come home!!!!!!!!

Coverage on social media was pitiful last night. Just a tweet at the start, at half time and at full time. No mention of line ups, subs or anything! How does that encourage people to support the Boro?

I think Spencer's outburst at half time must have blown all the fuses in N E Hampshire!!
In addition, the HW tannoy system is in serious need of upgrading.
Absolutely zilch on the far side, so no idea who was, or wasn't, playing for either side!!

Yes shocking that those volunteers that do a fantastic job week in, week out either had other prior engagements or were busy carrying out other roles!!!!!!

As is the norm in psf's, there is an element of 'don't tell em your name Pike', trialist a,b,c,d, etc. although the majority of our squad were recognisable, which is quite rare for Farnborough of recent years!!
The question of PR, and keeping supporters informed, has always been a bone of contention amongst the faithful and, unless you subscribe to Twitter, information is hard to find, although the main Club website has improved vastly, but much of that is delayed from publishing, and very little find its way on to the Fans Forum without it being transferred from Twitter by a.n.other.
Despite modern thinking, not everyone subscribes to Twitter, Facebook or the like!!
Whether there is a deliberate ploy from Management, paranoia, or not, is open to debate!
I fully support and appreciate all that is done by the volunteer helpers of course but, as the Club progresses a more professional approach to all matters, and the funding, will have to be found sometime.

You can read the tweet messages for around thirty seconds before it shuts you out, before asking you to sign in!
Luckily someone told me that if you click on the x at the top, which should close it, it lets you through to read anyway!
Wonder how long it will be before they twig that one?
There is still a fairly large proportion of the population, that do not have smart phones, tablets and the like, but still have a fair bit of spending power that is being missed out on because of the assumption that technology, social media, apps and the like, is the be all and end all.
Mostly the older generation of course, with spending power still (just), who probably miss out, but so do sports clubs and entertainment in general who would value the patronage, but sadly, maybe they aren't considered worth worrying about!!!
For an instance, I spoke to three people on Tuesday to remind them that it is a 1-00 kick off on Saturday. They didn't know and all of them said' I don't go on Twitter'!!
3 lots of attendance money that could have been missed! Only 3 but can we afford to turn money away?

For a reasonable fee, we can arrange for someone to come and shout club updates through your letter box, if that helps?
