A tweet has been put out recently, and it is as follows
"The Southern League has emailed clubs with an update on the new season:
They say meetings on Friday/Monday with the FA & other leagues have been positive.
As a result “it is looking highly possible that we will be able to commence the 2020/21 League season mid-late September"."
Let's hope. :-)

I see there's a few posts on twitter this morning suggesting 12th September as the start of the new season.

September 12th. Presumably for all leagues and not just the lower league. In that case it will be a question of "Do we try and condense the season and end it when it normally would?" Still multiple questions to be answered but I hope we can get back to seeing Boro play soon

It could work if the various Cup competitions, that take up a lot of Tuesdays etc., are scrapped for one season. I did hear talk of the F.A Cup and Trophy being shortened too, but not confirmed! F.A cup in particular would need to be thought about very carefully though, as it provides a financial lifeline to many lower League Clubs.
Whatever, can't wait to get back to some 'real' footie instead of the plastic/unreal world we are being urged to watch at the moment, not that I have watched any of it anyway, and don't intend to!!

At least it is some football to watch whilst we wait, and some entertaining football occasionally, but I agree it would be good to get back to the new normal, real football!

But what's on offer at the moment is a type of football that bears no relation to the real world, or the desperate situations some people find themselves in.
Secure in their own financial bubble, these millionaires are going through the motions in empty stadiums, not because they want to but because they are have to contractually!!
The Clubs are mortgaged to the hilt to the TV companies, and daren't forgo on their contracts because most of them couldn't afford to repay the fees received if sued!
Everything about the PL is false and contrived. For that reason I can't and won't watch it!
And don't start me on the Man City situation!!!! Money really does talk doesn't it?

It's a good job that the stadiums are empty. I think the fans might not give them quite the reaction that they think they will get for this kneeling down garbage. They are against slavery apparently. They do this whilst wearing shirts that are sold in the club shops for £100 made by kids abroad working in squalor for peanuts. These poor little sods are helping to pay for their overinflated wages. I've yet to hear one of them protesting or campaigning against that. Hypocrites !! I refuse to watch it at the moment too. I'll wait until we can get back to watching a proper game. Win lose or draw
Just to be clear I think the kick it out campaign has been good. As a statement no-one can argue with the statement that black lives matter. Of course they do as do everyone elses. Unfortunately the sentiment has been turned into the name for a political movement . Google them and see what they stand for. This is what they are paying homage to.

I agree with what you are saying but I do quite like keeping up to date with premier league football. The PL, whilst it is financially unrealistic to the rest of football around the globe, has some very talented players.
Non league will never live up to those sort of standards for obvious reasons. Can't wait until September 12th (or until any news comes out) to see what happens with restarting the season.

"Just to be clear I think the kick it out campaign has been good." being rolled out as the new "I'm not racist but...". Impressive! If you're struggling to understand it, maybe just tone down the gammon and go and talk to some people affected by racial inequality. Just a thought!

If I have an argument I put it forward. If I don't then I would not post, What I definitely don't do is throw personal insults at someone who may have a different point of view. It seems that calling me racist and gammon is all you have.
Don't worry Nigel. I have said my piece and will post no further on this thread. I've no intention of getting into slanging matches.

"...as do everyone elses."
I think you know exactly what you were doing. If you don't, I'd again urge you to seek out someone with a vested interest in the subject matter and take onboard their experiences.
I'll just leave this here...

I'm an old guy, so forgive me when I say I don't understand what gammon means. What I do know is that by BOROWALK implying in this particular thread that someone is a racist is not helpful and perhaps not justified. Calm down guys.
