Wolves are one of the clubs participating in the trial, which starts on 1 January.
The systems appears to work well at Bundesliga stadiums in Germany and looks much safer than the present-day practice of many fans choosing to stand in seated areas.

The whole ban on standing comes not from terraces being dangerous but obfuscation in the shameful cover-up by the police and the Tory govt. at the time of the Hillsborough tragedy, where with the help of their friends in the Sun they blamed everything that happened on the supporters, when the blame was anything but on them. This led to the Taylor report and the standing ban in stadia.
A return to standing is more than welcome as it essentially normalises what is going on anyway and the 'safe standing' at least gives the clubs control on numbers in each area - still one per seat - and removes the potential of a p!ssed bloke toppling forwards when unsteady on his feet getting out of his seat at an exciting moment. Also its one less flash-point in stewarding with them having to continually tell people to sit down and them being continually told where to get off in return!

The idea of safe standing behind goals, as in the example picture, makes sense as almost no one stays sitting in those areas anyway, particularly during attacking moments.
It may also slightly affect attendance figures in those areas, but safety must come first.
It doesn't seem to occur along the sides, as modern stadiums are built with stands of slightly curved, or angled systems to give good sight lines.
As an example my one and only visit to Villa Park for instance, a few years back, found me sitting in the Holt End on the far right of the penalty area. A great view so I thought!!
As soon as there was an attack down Villa's right, absolutely everyone stand stood up and I couldn't see a thing!! I quickly learned to do likewise. Waste of time having a seat!! Stewards had no chance of enforcing the seating anyway with that many ignoring the rule.
I'm sure the same situation happens elsewhere too.
Probably doesn't happen at Villa these days though the way they are performing!!!! Joke, Villa fans, joke!!.

my one and only visit to Villa Park for instance I can only feel that was quite a lot more emphasised than it should have been

No slight on Villa Tom, just a bit of local Midland Club banter.
I've always respected Villa, they are, and always have been, a huge Club, but currently struggling like most Clubs outside of the mega rich super Clubs.
Maybe the European Super League wasn't such a bad idea? With the five or six super rich Clubs out of the way we 'might' get back to some equal footing football.
