Matthew Lewis needs to come off he looks lost and tired. It was the same on Monday, run his arse off but was totally isolated. It’s frustrating waiting for Hish to come on when it’s clear for all to see Millar has exhausted all his energy and isn’t going to score. Makes me wonder what’s wrong with Hish that we don’t know as it makes no sense for him to get such little time. I’d like SD to tell us tbh as it just doesn’t make sense and I fear we are a decent striker short. As much as I don’t believe Harvey Bradbury was the answer long term, I wonder if a target man would have been useful today. Anyway at least results so far today have been quite favourable, win the next two home matches and it should be in our hands going to Weymouth.

Telling factor of the season. Not one player has hit double figures in league goals...
3 games to go still in with a sniff

Great effort today, but we just fell short to a really good team that will, in my opinion, eventually go up with Yeovil, although the way they are messing around, I just wonder?? They couldn't blow it at the death could they??
Two Jack special saves in goal today, and some body on the line defending but, in all honesty, we didn't really trouble their keeper.
Magic work from Joe and Olly in midfield again, and we are still floundering up front, despite Millsy running his socks of without reward. Lost our shape when we took off Clarke and Ricky, and the stones pressed on after that, and could have wrapped it up, but took saaw the game out.
Maidstone seems to be the home of giants, but we gave it a good shot and, with a little bit of luck, we might have got a point, but I always felt they had another gear, and a tough trip to Gloucester must have left them a bit ragged.
Super attendance of 1526, and Cherrywood comes alive when we get big crowds. Let's hope for more in the future.
As Matt said, we are still in with a shout of a play off spot, and on to Chippenham at home on Thursday!!
This is Farnborough though. We like to do things the hard way...remember Hayes???
COME ON YOU YELLOWWSSAA!!

Ricky looked in a lot of pain at the end of the game. His calf had a big ice pack /bandage on it and he said he’d ’ruptured a blood vessel in his leg’. 😬

Agree, thought Maidstone played well and deserved the win. I have a sneaky feeling the final play off places will not be decided until the last game of the season.

Maidstone played well but we also didn’t test them much, again it was another game of playing everything wide and crossing in with a team of tall guys they dealt with everything.
We can’t afford to slip up again if we are to make the playoffs with Chippenham, bath and HRBFC all with a game in hand.

We were well organised today but one lax moment from a corner did for us against as good a side I have seen in our league. We have actually scored more goals than them this season. To put it in context they actually had a reserve GK on the bench! We really are punching with our small squad.Talking of goalies is there a better shot stopper than our JT?That first save down low from the header was just wow.

I continue to enjoy this season.
We came up short today, but, let's face it, this is an extraordinarily tough league in which to make a strong impression. Compare our resources with Maidstone's - it's a no contest, but we're still in the hunt for the play-offs and, who knows?
Meanwhile, I'm pleased we're not looking over our shoulders or, worse, battling to stay out of the bottom four.
We've progressed, so let's build on that in a sensible, sustainable way.
Unfortunately long term fans have seen the alternative, which was great while the money lasted. Afterwards? Not so much. I hope to never see us grubbing around in the nether regions of the Southern League ever again. That's not down to us fans, it's down to those who hold the purse strings.
Be sensible, and take each step one at a time. Good stuff is happening - don't disrupt it by being dumb.

We can’t afford to slip up again if we are to make the playoffs with Chippenham, bath and HRBFC all with a game in hand. Remember, one of Chippenham's game in hand is against us. Elsewhere this week, HRB host Bath City, Worthing away at Dartford, Maidstone at home to Weymouth, Chippenham play WSM two days before coming to us Some massive games for everyone involved, and much harder to predict when everyone still has games in hand. Ask any manager, though, and they'll take points on the board over games in hand any day.

I've seen a few Maidstone fans say they thought a point would have been fair and I agree. We definitely didn't deserve to win, but I thought they weren't all that. They clearly had players with the ability but their finishing was abysmal. Besides a ten or fifteen minutes spell in the first half when they had a few good chances that JT saved brilliantly they had the pace and the runs but final ball and finishing was poor.
I said to my mate, I think if Aaron was in the middle of the park he'd have made a huge difference (and low and behold he was MOTM for Dorking) Taylor was overrun and a bit lightweight. I like him but he needs to be more Pagey.
Unfortunately, I think Millar makes far too many bad decisions and is trying way too hard to impress. He did hold it well a few times and brought people in but he then kept trying to beat too many of them and his passing and shooting was pretty terrible.
I know we're being careful with Hish but with only a few games left I think we need to start him a few times. Chippenham well be knackered after playing Saturday and Tuesday so we need to run at them. Reggie higher up, play Mullins at RWB and rest Ricky.
Still all to play for. COYY
