Day doesn't want to play while Prince is looking at the money.
Which way will the Club turn?

All South division fixtures due to take place tonight, apart from Met Police v Hendon, have been postponed.
Intriguingly, our home game with Walton Casuals tomorrow night is still showing as going ahead. This could be the reason why (bear with me) ....
1. If the Step 3 Leagues don't resume after lockdown ends and relegation positions are determined by points per game (PPG) then we potentially have a major problem.
2. There is one guaranteed relegation spot in our division and Beaconsfield would definitely be in bottom spot. Normally there would be two guaranteed relegation positions but our division is running a club short due to Blackfield & Langley's resignation. Merthyr have been forced to suspend operations of course, but that's by the by as they've been guaranteed a Step 3 berth for next season.
3. But, another club could be relegated from our division if it has the worst or 2nd worst playing record of the 3rd bottom* clubs across the Step 3 divisions.
*This would be the 2nd bottom club in our division as we're running one club short.
4. So, which two 3rd bottom Step 3 clubs have the worst records currently?
- Bamber Bridge in the Northern Premier League: a PPG of 0.5 (4 from 8) and a goal difference of -10. - FARNBOROUGH: a PPG of 0.5 (4 from 8) with a goal difference of -9.
5. So, in the event of the season being curtailed and decided on a PPG basis, we HAVE to play and beat Walton tomorrow night to have a chance of avoiding relegation to Step 4. A draw would not be enough to lift our PPG above Dorchester, whose game tonight has been called off.
Thanks for reading to the end!

Gutted. Wonder whose decision that was? You'll never guess who wanted the game cancelled.

Well, that's a damn shame, but I suppose health is more important in the long run. Hope we all meet again before Christmas. Keep safe.

Nigel, if Bamber Bridge DO play, and that's a BIG IF, and Lose, that reduces their PPG further and we should be OK?? 4 from 9 = 0.444
If everything stops now, League is cancelled and promotion/relegation is decided, then I reckon we could do it on goal difference?? Straw clutching and all that, but I hope not, and we can resume later, even if it is in the New Year!!

Bamber Bridge is the other at the moment, but their game tonight at Morpeth is going ahead, so they could "escape". Amazingly enough, tonight's games involving several of the other threatened Step 3 clubs are going ahead because of the risk of Bamber Bridge winning their game. But don't get your hopes up if they all lose, as it still wouldn't reprieve us. Apart from Bamber Bridge, all would still have a superior PPG.

A draw would not be enough to lift our PPG above Dorchester, whose game tonight has been called off. Thanks for reading to the end! There are TWO guaranteed relegation spots. Think of it as a relegation pool. 10 teams will get relegated from the four divisions. Originally the teams finishing 20th, 21st and 22nd would be relegated from each division - 12 teams in total. After Blackfield & Langley dropped out they then changed the rules to state that 1 of the 4 teams finishing 3rd from bottom would be reprieved - 11 teams in total. Following Merthyr's hibernation that's now changed to 2 of those teams. As per the Southern League website's table Farnborough are in a potential relegation spot: southern-football-league.co.uk/league-table/Southern%20League%20Premier%20South/2020/2021/P/
