A very fine first 45 minutes today. We passed it around well and made Aveley struggle. Disappointingly, we rested on our laurels in the second half, seemingly thinking we'd done the job despite a single goal advantage.
But we got away with it, as more than a few Aveley players appeared to accept their fate (I suspect their manager may have disagreed with them) and Joe Haigh scored a cracking goal out of nowhere (I'll gloss over the clever handball that put him into a scoring position).
If someone had told me we'd get maximum points from the away games at Bath and Worthing and then beat Aveley at home I'd have raised a quizzical eyebrow. But we have, and I reckon there's still have plenty to spare in the tank to play even better.
We have momentum, let's see where it takes us.

Watching the highlights reel, their pen should have been retaken as no.11 clearly encroached forward of the "D" before the ball was kicked....
Also, it will be interesting to see if they appeal the red card and how far that goes if they do. It was clearly a petulant, unsporting foul on Jordan off the pitch and the bloke had been warned several times by the ref prior to then...
