How would we like to see us line up tomorrow night?
Presuming everyone is fit after the 10 day break and we are not going to be treated to any new signings (aside from the right back who the rumour is Ben Mason), I’m thinking the below -
GK - JT LWB - Jordan CB - Bally CB - Sid CB - CJ RWB - Ben Mason (new signing) CM - Penders CM - Clark LW - Selim CF - Ghandour RW - Reggie
Subs:
Ricky Cullen Maloney Robinson Mukuna
5-4-1 out of possession and 3-4-3 in possession, I think this could work quite well now we’ve got a proper RWB.

You are assuming Sid will be ok after his nasty injury? So I would start with Robbo there instead. From three at the back to five suddenly? At home? It's a bit defensive, and we need the points to stay in the top half, and they will be fighting for them too!
We could get over run in midfield, so maybe push CJ forward to CMF? so 4-3-3.
Unless Spencer brings more rabbits out of the hat??, AND it doesn't freeze?

It’s not three at the back to five, when you play with wing backs effectively you are always playing with five at the back when defending!? I don’t see it as defensive because it becomes 3-4-3 in possession, nothing defensive about that. It’s just a way of being solid out of possession whilst still having numbers in attack. We are conceding avoidable goals at the moment so it seems when we are defending it would be prudent to do so in numbers. I agree we need the points, but to get back in to the top half…we’re 14th!

Sorry, Mike, don't want to argue with you, but top half in a 24 team League is 12 and above.
We are currently 14th and only 3 points from 18th, well down in the bottom half, with several of the clubs below us having games in hand!
We HAVE to concentrate tomorrow, Welling won't just roll over!

I agree the current situation is worrying and Welling absolutely won’t be easy opposition.

Really surprised you've got Robbo on the bench, always does the job and his long throw is an asset.

Love Robbo but for me he’s not been in form of late and as useful as the long throw can be, I’d rather we got the ball down and tried to play tbh. Prefer to see the long throw used as a weapon of last resort.

All of these points could well be rendered moot as it was already -1º at 5:30 today, so there's a distinct chance the pitch will be frozen throughout tomorrow and the game off.

Yep, only due about four hours sun and a max temp of + 4º, so a strong possibility the pitch may succumb to the cold. Wouldn’t be good news from a financial perspective given how few home games we’ve had recently.

I'm sure I remember Spencer saying, during lockdown, that a large percentage came through other events at the club other than football.

Looked just now and it said currently -5, high of 1C at midday and then back down to - 1 to - 2 after 5pm. Looks unlikely to me but let's see

As I type, the club have just tweeted as if there’s no concern 🤷🏻♂️

I’m sure good money is made through ventures outside of football. However, the loss of a home match is a hit as staff still have to be paid and the revenue from tickets, food, bar etc. is delayed until the fixture is rescheduled and played.

My back garden is in a similar position as the goal in front of the big stand as my house is also north facing and my garden is frozen solid.

Match postponed following a pitch inspection at 11:30, the area in the shadow of the PRE stand remains frozen with little chance of recovery before temperatures drop again later this afternoon.
