Much better showing than the Chippenham game, but we couldn't finish the majority of the chances we got . First half we were in it, and second half we competed well, but their quality showed.
One interesting note: Grimsby 7-2 Slough! Wonder if that will have an affect this weekend?
Anyone watching the stream know how many consecutive wins Yeovil are on now? Commentator didn't mention it at all?

Proud of the lads tonight, that was a decent showing against a quality team who should win the league at a canter.
Yeovil were always just better in possession, more accurate, better control, more clinical. No shame in that loss.
But we put up a really good show, just let down a bit by some hesitancy in attacking positions, some wayward passing in the key moments and some barn door shooting. That all sounds really negative but actually we had a lot of the ball, made a lot of running, created pretty well and were always a threat. Very impressed with Kuhl, CJ and Selim tonight. Connor C and Maloney did well when they came on too. With a more clinical cutting edge would have been close. Glad Connor H got that late goal - 4 1 reads like a shellacking, 4 - 2 has a fairer ring somehow. Defeats always hurt but lots of positives tonight.
And the quality of the stream was miles better than last week, so credit to Yeovil there too.
Did someone say they haven't lost in a while ?

So much better than last week. Could have been even at half time with the chances we missed.
Freak goal/misjudgement to make it 3-1, dodgy spell of about 20 mins after half time where we lost our way it seemed, but came back strongly with the subs and hit the bar, header off the line could have made it interesting.
Created more than usual away from home, seemed to start more on it in the first half and another night could have nicked a point against a strong Yeovil side. They always looked in control or like they had another gear if needed, but huge improvement and can't fault the effort tonight from the lads, a good response and keep that up away from home and results will come.

The difference in recent performances seemed to be the way we played with urgency. When we went on our good run last season, the key to this was playing a high press where when we lost possession we continually chased and harassed the man with the ball with 2 players closing down which forced errors which we immediately countered from... We got back into that groove tonight and we scored the 2 goals, so hopefully notes have been taken!
Yeovil are easily playing a division below their level. They were just happy to cede territory and keep possession, moving the ball patiently side to side, small triangles and squares waiting for a gap to open and bang, exploit them ruthlessly when they did appear - you only need a couple and that's you away and clear as was shown tonight with their first 2 goals... 3rd goal took everyone by surprise, literally nobody moved for it, forwards defense or Jack in goal and just watched as it took a wicked spin when it bounced like a Shane Warne delivery and in slo-mo went in off the post - the ball was not even on target before the bounce! That said our 2nd was a gift where they played the ball straight to Connor Hall 20 yards from goal as he chased lost causes!
Plenty of positives from that performance tonight and if they can keep doing WHAT WORKS then we should get a play-off berth and who knows what happens next!

Can't have too many complaints about the result or the performance. The effort was there and we created some chances, however, always felt Yeovil had the ability to step up a gear if needed. If we can put in more away performances like that, we'll pick up our first away win sooner rather than later.
