Seems to be a familiar pattern developing.
Tight first half. Unable to score Red card to boot
Maybe next game will be our first win
Thanks for the updates

Thank God for Liam Beach..... Some very fine saves once again from the man in pink today.
Does anyone know why Assidjo isn't given a place in the starting 11? Is he not fit..?
For a side who lack the ability to hold up the ball north of the half-way line and create chances through accurate lay-offs to forwards, it seems wasteful to have him sat on his derriere warming the bench for 80 mins...
Maybe Spencer can explain...?

Cracking watch of a first half, we looked pretty good, it was very even and we properly competed. Again we were sorely let down in front of goal by not having a centre forward target man to hit. Where one should be we have a massive hole - rather than fill it, everyone seems to run away to either side or hang back meaning all attacks seem to break down from 30 yards out and if the ball goes wide there is no-one in the box to hit with a cross. Second half this was a moot point as we didn't manage a single chance of note on goal. Proper one way traffic from the off and it was only a matter of time before Taunton scored. After a couple of minutes they managed to put over the bar from 2ft out and just could not beat Beach or the last ditch blocks of our defense. How they scored was probably their most spawny of chances and we had nothing to offer in response.
If it wasn't for Beach this could have been a proper shellacking and a 1-0 scoreline really flatters us on the percentage of play and chances conceded. That said, we are able to compete in midfield and defence, we just cannot compete up front at present which is causing our downfall as unless you have chances you will not score and second half we look like we could have played till Christmas without doing so.
2 sendings off from forwards for 2 yellows in 2 games: I think it is their own frustration that is building and showing in committing niggly fouls that lead to this.

Don't hold your breath on the last question Rich.
I thought we gave it away by taking of Akongo, Blake, who I thought was very impressive, and Akebuasi.
Three of our stronger players, no disrespect to those that replaced them.
There is a time to go for the three points and a time to shut the shop and take the one. Something we don't seem to learn!!
No one jumped on the 10, who was running the game for them, and we were out thought and out muscled, by a side that knew just when to fall when touched, get the free kick and break the game up. It's called nous, and we don't have it!!!
As for the goal, a real freak, big yahoo air kick from the 17, and the ball spun and flat footed everyone except his other foot for the tap in!! Couldn't write it could you? Oh yeh, I just did!!!
Oh well only Tiverton away next week. 0-1 anybody???
Don't look at the League table, it's horrible!!!!!

Dorchester turned over Tiverton today. Stranger things can happen. I've actually enjoyed the last two home games. We do need to start hitting the old onion sack though.

Through out the second half in front of the tea bar, there was an abusive fan giving the lino a hard time. His language was foul. Why when we announce that foul and abusive language won't be tolerated do we do nothing about it.

Difficult one, and I don't disagree Jules, almost as bad as the language given out by the Taunton players to the same linesman. F'ing and blinding right to his face over decisions. Seems to be tolerated these days, even with warnings, and Match Officials cocking a deaf one!! Doesn't make it right though.
Don't think I would want to face down someone like that though. Never know how it would develop, specially if a few pints have been imbibed!!
Stronger and more severe stewarding would seem to be the answer, but then we get back to the financial situation!!

Hi Jules, during the second half, the linesman brought to my attention, an absolutely disgusting comment made by a supporter in front of the tea bar. I went and spoke to the person concerned. He claimed that he hadn't made the reported remark. We hadn't had any complaints by other supporters. asked him to refrain from making any further disgusting remarks. I understand that he left the stadium shortly afterwards.

Hi Borobob, I too was amazed by the language used by some players towards the officials, but I guess what has become acceptable effing and blinding, I wouldn't put up with in their position. what isn't acceptable is comments about family members. Yes the person I spoke to did seem to have consumed a certain amount of alcohol.
We are also trying to manage our new young supporters, whilst their vocal support is welcome, their language isn't. From yesterday we have employed an additional Security person to stay with them during the game.

Last thing we need is a bad reputation as 'Scum' supporters when that is so far from the truth.
I think we truly welcome everyone to the San Cheerio and are happy to exchange banter with like-minded opposition supporters and take some flack from them when it's due!
True, the 'men in Black' can be exasperating at times for both sides, which can elicit the odd heated comment or two, but in context. Has forever been the case in football.
Cheap, filthy, contrived personal insults amuse no-one and have no place at our club...IMHO
